Unable to open Console Command box

Hi All,

I just reinstalled TOEE, patched it with 1 and 2 then installed the latest CO8 mod. I opened the game and everything works great except that I cannot use shift + ~ to open up the console command box. I've tried a few switching active games and patching the original version over but still no luck no matter how many times I press it. Any advice?

 

Just to double check, do you have an American keyboard or some other language/country? Are you hitting the control and the ~ key at the same time? I think it is the control key you need to hit, not the shift. If I am wrong, which can happen, , then please of course ignore this post.

 

I am fairly sure I am holding shift and tilde at the same time, I usually try multiple times as well. it's a standard american keyboard. This is a fresh install and at one point I remember having to go into the folder and having to add something to a text document to enable it but I may be mistaken. i haven't messed with any of those files except to install the front-end.

 

Do you still have a list of commands for altering game specs?

 

I'm not sure what you mean?

If you know the name of the file i need t edit/create I can look for it. The only notepad docs that look like I'd be able to edit commands are deveng, tfe-x, speedup and lockout

 

Oh, I just mean the text lines to alter experience and gold for party members when you open the command console.

 

I have the thread with all the commands in it, I just can't get the console command box to open during gameplay.

 

Are you able to use any of the hotkeys? Can you hit "I" and get to the inventory screen? Once I lost the ability to use the keyboard in the game and had to turn off the computer to get out and reboot.

 

Everything like that works, yeah. I've done a couple reboots.

 

As a quick update

Did a fresh uninstall of everything and still no luck. I remember having to open up one of the config files to enter from utilities import * into it but that was back before i had started using TFE-X.

 

Still no luck, though thanks for the help. I'm beginning to think it might be something with my keyboard reacting with the in-game sensitivity. As soon as I can scrounge up an extra keyboard I'm going to give it a try.

 

Are you playing on a laptop? If yes, it's a common issue for some. Fixable.

 

And how do you fix it; as it doesn't work on my laptop?
