You didn't lose Con points unless your characters were level 1 and it doesn't sound like they were level 1 to me.

You can easily fix this problem yourself. I will give you a step by step. It is quite easy to do.... just following these instructions each time it happens.

Instructions for removing spell permanancy and NOT losing any experience:

    1) Put the NPC/PC that has the problem with spell permanancy in the absolute left hand slot (slot 0)

    2) open the console

    3) in the console type: x = game.party[0]

    4) type: game.global_vars[752] = x.stat_level_get(stat_experience)

    5) Kill the character that has spell permanancy.

    6) type: game.obj_create(9379, game.leader.location)

    7) pick up the Raise Dead Scroll

    8) Use the raise dead scroll to raise the character from the dead

    9) type: x.stat_base_set(stat_experience, game.global_vars[752])

Repeat this with each character that has the problem. You can do it from anywhere in game. It should not take too long.

    As for feeling guilty...

...suspend your disbelief & imagine that there has been a divine intervention on behalf of your unjustly affected characters...

Then, patch up your game & give it anothe try with a new party. It's a lot more fun when it's fixed. Not perfect, mind you, but way more tolerable.

in regards to no raise dead from Terjon

I first encountered the problem myself a few nights ago. I had Livonya's beta 1 and all the usual prereqs. I thought I had found a bug and was going to report it. However, I thought a little more investigation would be appropriate. I hadn't really used Terjon for raise dead all that much before and as far as I can remember not ever after getting the stuff from the rainbow rock. Anyway I thought to myself "self" I thought "what could be doing this?" And it came to me, I had the fungus figurine and had had Terjon look at it. So I went outside, dropped the figurine and went back inside. This time I had no problems. Terjon offered raise dead and I was able to get my cleric raised. I don't know how things were before Livonya's mod. Maybe this is a bug introduced by it maybe this is a bug that has always been there. It does, however, make sense in game terms. If it is a 'bug' I think it should be upgraded to a 'feature' and left in.

@damargon, I guess I'll try dropping the figurine

@Livonya, Umm, no. Not the case. I've hit the silence bug twice. Once at level 9, my rogue and cleric got it, I couldn't get rid of it, I killed them off, got Jaroo to raise, didn't think about Constitution negative penalties. At Level 10, while fighting Hendrak and all those wizards and ettins, etc, I cast silence again nowhere near the party but up the back of the room, but eventually had to send characters up there to beat up on the last wizard who was invi and concealed, and I needed multiple characters to take him out, as I didn't have the spells to get rid of his invis memorised. I then got two more characters silenced, this time my level 10 fighter and level 10 rogue. I went back to St Cuthbert, because between these two silences, I uninstalled ToEE, reinstalled it, installed patch 1 and 2 (not 3), co8 fan fix, and moebius. Went to 2nd level of st cuthbert temple , my fighter had well in excess of 100 hps, I killed him off by attacking him, then went to speak to terjon got no answer, andI understand why now. But then I reloaded as I autosave on leaving areas, and even though I still reloaded before leaving the second level of the temple where Terjon stands, I had under 100 hps, I checked my stats and I had lost con. So no I wasn't level 1, and I thought I'd explained this, but I also went back and checked the two characters who I'd killed off before, remembering what their con stat was, and they both had lost con at level 9.

I suppose I could try a restoration spell, but then it's probably been too many days past to use the spell on any party member.

    No matter.

*mutters about stupid equipment that doesn't get full descriptions*

I went back and double checked the con stats of all my characters as if I was going to start a new game, then checked tht against my last save game, and I hadn't lost any con, so I couldn't work out why my fighter had lost hps, and was under 100 in the save game. So I went back to the killing the pc's but of course I had to take all my fighters eq off, and I did have the hp totals showing on the character portrait at the bottom, and as soon as I took the shield off my hps went up :\ I was using Hedrak's plate and shield, and it seems the shield takes hps off you, but it's not reflected in your con, if it is a negative con bonus on the shield.

So everything is okay, I figure maybe the silence bug is still there even though it's patched cos I'm still in theory working on a game i progress pre-patch.

I tried getting raised at Terjon after ditching that item just then as well, and he still would only neutralise poison or remove disease, and no matter what dialog branch I went down I couldn't get him to offer raise. I did noticed, when I asked him about conversions, the errm woodcutter( or was it leatherworker) conversion to let him know it was done was still listed. Also, would he not be willing to raise me, because I have no one following St Cuthbert ?

Lastly, when it comes to the final final battle, am I actually going to be able to hit the main boss, given I don't have any holy or blessed weapons ? The only two holy or blessed weapons I have found in the game is the ranseur and the spiked chain, and I don't actually want the fighter monk or rogue using either of those, because I have the monk doing enough damage with flurries, and I have my fighter with all the hr and dr feats improving the use of a longsword. Have I missed any other holy or blessed weapons, I'm hoping I don't need them and if I do, I can't see my rogue switching off melee and nailing the guy with silver arrows and managing to hit before he runs out :(

    Spoiler

    SPOILER

Look, the following weapons are the ones that are available inside the game
    Holy Longsword +1
    Holy Ranseur +1
Thorned Chain of Love +1 (holy)
    Holy Greateaxe +1
    Lawful-Holy Moradin's Greathammer+1
    Scahter & Fragrach: Chaotic/Holy +4
I can't remember anyother of them and... I won't undervalutate the ranseur: it is a great weapon for a 2nd line character or one with greater cleave, since it has a good range and deals quite a lot of damages. There are other magical weapons of different kinds, but noone of them is holy or lawful.
The Longsword is in Homelet, as reward for a long quest that starts asking a druid's hand for marriage.... others are in the elemental nodes (weird that you didn't catch them)
Scather is a reward if you find a certian prince to free...

Hedrack's Shield is an Unholy item... that is your problem. The item works just fine otherwise...

    Re: Spoiler...

Hmm, shield might be that, but my point was it still didn't state in it's item description, which is the annoying part. But heck, I might as well still take advantage of it and the platemail for my frontline fighter :)

Well, I've only just entered the nodes and doing them right at this minute. They're not terribly easy. I've just done the air one, can they guy cast any more mirror images ???

I found the Ranseur and the chains of love, but when your main frontline is a monk who isnt proficient in either and more effective with fists, a fighter who has weapon focus, improved crit, etc etc in longsword no use really, and a rogue who I use for getting into position with crippling strike sneak attacks.... Hmms.
As for the longsword not much hope of that going on what I read and charisma required for the quest :-/

I freed the prince concerned, but I didn't get the weapon, probably because I tell all npc's where they can go ;)

But the question still stands which I ask, do I need a blessed or holy weapon to kill the final guy if so I'll have to go back to the shops and buy the ranseur or spiked chain, or have my fighter use a greathammer or greataxe, and forgo the massive bonuses I've acquired from feats :(

I just added descriptions for these items. When I am done with my version 2.0 mod then these items will have proper descriptions once identified.
