Ah, it was poorly bluffing your way to see Lareth. Strange though the party refers to him as the New Master. My 2nd/3rd level party killed him, raised him and met the Gnolls, who had an interesting dialog about capturing Lareth. The party only responds with that they joined him. Unfortunately, neither the bugbears nor Lubash recognized him. Sitra's mod was awesome. What triggers the spiders to join?
I wish Lareth wouldn't be so paranoid about villagers recognizing him. I suppose it is tolerable in Hommlet, but I think unsuitable for Nulb. Is the only way to get him to adventure with the party in the Temple to enter via the secret spiral staircase to the Air Temple? I wonder if his fear of the whole of dungeon 1 to be replaced by the party going down the staircases from the ground floor to dungeon 1.
Lareth needs to be totally re-written, especially for evil alignments. I spent a good bit of time on it a few years ago and it kind of worked. He stayed with the group and Smigmal joined to. He became de-facto high priest because everyone else was dead. I never finished all the dialogue, but it worked. Someone skilled in dlg writing, a lot better than me, could make an interesting scenario out of it.
A few fixes and adjustments: Fixed the aforementioned problem. Archers woken up from Sleep spell won't charge you anymore. Archers won't approach sleeping friend in there is a PC standing in between, to prevent AOOs. Reduced range of "approach to wake up" script.
Does Lareth complain about being in Hommlet even after earning the Butcher rep? Perhaps the bluffing to see the New Master should be allowed only if the party has spoken with the gnolls? Otherwise the dialog really seems quite strange IMO. The Tower Sentry does not allow options for the party to access Fire or Earth temples if Lareth is in the party. He "sees" Lareth regardless of invisibility. Should this be corrected?
I just checked the Tower Sentinel's dlg file. The Sense Motive check is 11 - wtf! That is impossible to catch this peon's lies unless the party uses a 6th-8th level rogue or bard as a face character (they don't usually have high Wis). Perhaps a monk could do it at a lower level but who uses monks as face characters? I'd recommend no higher than 9, perhaps 8 would be best. This would allow clerics, with Negotiator or skill focus, to succeed. Also, in this scenario Lareth doesn't surrender. Perhaps allowing him to surrender or beg Lolth for spiders would be better.
Had a mostly naked monk(no armor) with real high stats. She was sexy and tough. Good pc but gets all the snide comments for being naked.
