    Unfortunately HK was the victim, some months ago, of an accidental gunshot wound in a convenience store holdup. Gunshot wounds tend to have long-lasting debilitatating effects of one kind or another, so while he initially recovered quite nicely, this turn of events shouldn't be all that surprising. Keep pulling for him, everybody.

    Hit in the arm? Nerve damage? Bone damage? Gunshot sucks.

    We haven't had anyone shot in our chapter, but 8 Angels have been shot and killed. Curtis Sliwa was shot 5 times in a mob hit in 1992. He has been able to mostly recover. The first two to three years are the worse.

    I had one of my female students shot at point-blank range in the forehead last fall, after the hurricane. She came back to class three weeks later. But had to drop out because of complications.

    Tell HK we love him and miss him. :(

    Ah, she told me about that mail the same day, but didn't know the password to log in (weird, cos i have my PC "locked" here, the caché must ahve been cleansed) :)
