Yes, but I sure could have used a water trip down the river but no one called me.

Looking forward to checking out the Gremag files ASAP. Not one word of support for Lord Spike's efforts on this? :shame:

Also looking forward to Zorn's Black Jay & Rannos Davl, plus the female voice test . . .

You're right Gaer, should've posted something right away. I think they are bloody awesome:yes: They add a lot more depth of character than the voices that Troika did have time for. I particularly liked the tone of voice on the Seth Fledner comments, it brings up a defineite mental image.

I suspect the lack of response is at least partly due to others making the same assumption I did.

    Files are 50Mb wav

It kinda sounded like he was sending the files directly to you for resampling and trimming.

In any case my apologies, excellent bloody work Zorn and Spike, please keep it up.

    Cuchulainn.

I rather thought you'd find it too cold still. It sure as hell got that way about halfway down. Also, the PFD issue concerned me, 'cause I'm really not up for drowning my best friend (not yet, anyways...). There's a lot of rocks & riffles on this trip. Next time, though, I'll call regardless. Meantime, here's a pic from the trip you shuttled for us:

Bravo, Lord_Spike! A fine job in voicing the dubious Gremag indeed! See below for a sample line from a familiar yet never mundane encounter with the resourceful shopkeeper.

I'll soon dice these up into their respective little bits, convert to MP3, and ship them off to Ted for integration. Thanks again, you guys. I'm really looking forward to the others now.

@ Cuch - No sweat . . . and well said all around. Thanks for speaking up.

@ Zorn & Spike - One little problem I see: Gremag's first 6 lines don't seem to be included in the files. As these are "Welcome to Hommlet! How may I help you?" type lines, they are often spoken and will definitely be needed.

    Gaear

ps - Oh yeah, I liked the retakes better too and intend to use those for the end product. :joy:

Damn...I thought we got them all...I guess not.

I'll have to work in another trip to Zorn's...soon!

PFD was ordered and delivered early last week. Hell, even Lady Zorn and lil Zorn wanted to go. They have PFDs already.

Yes, please come by and we will get those recordings done.

    Lord_Spike speaks! :raving:

So I got everything from the Gremag recordings all sliced and diced and filed away, corrected any new discrepencies in Gremag's DLG file, sent everything to its respective place, and fired up the game. Went to have a little talk with R & G and what should I hear chattering back at me from behind Gremag's sinister grin but the dulcet tones of our own Lord_Spike! Sounds great and makes the traders establishment that much more lively. :joy:

Now if I could just get Rannos Davl to open his mouth . . .

btw - special thanks to Ted for his tutorial on adding such things to the game.

    @ Zorn & Spike -

Here's a list of what's still needed for Gremag, for your convenience.

    The following lines:

    • "Welcome to the Hommlet Trading Post. I am Gremag. We have the fairest prices in town. Look around, please. What can I help you with? Anything in particular you are looking for? I even have a man-at-arms for hire. I am here to help."
    • "You! You've double-crossed us! Now Burne and his strange friend Rufus have put a special watch out on us. There's nothing I can do to you while in Hommlet, but I will refuse to trade with you. Our doors are closed to you!"
    • "Yes. [suspiciously] How may I help you? What would you like?"
    • "How may I help you? Please look around our trading post. Let me know if you have any questions. Do you see anything you like?"
    • "Welcome back to the Hommlet Trading Post. We have the fairest prices around. Look around, please. What can I help you with? Anything in particular you are looking for? I am here to help."
    • "What?! Why we offer the best prices in town! What ever could you be talking about? Here, look at our fantastic deals. Or just leave. Whatever suits you."
Also, please add these two lines for female-specific dialogue:

    • "Then you are surely worthy of joining the assassins. You shall be notified on any future entrance requirements. Good luck, sister."
    • "Raimol! Help me out with this girl!"
    Thanks . . .

edit: Almost forgot, if you're feeling froggy, throw in a giggling child and Ted's cat. ;)

Actually, rather than giggling, a littl'un saying, "you're funny-looking" or some such generic comment, a la BG, wouldn't be too bad.

Gaear...look for Zorn to send you a present soon. We did the missing Gremag stuff today in a lightning session of recording. Lots of goofing around, too. You should get it all in a very raw form, so you can pick & choose what you like & use it. There's a little fun thing about asking a gnome for directions, too. Zorn also showed me his coming Roundcon strategy for a certain Boardgame...of which he's a Champ-peen. He takes down the "Allies" by capturing 2 capitols in 3 turns...

    In a word, it's "BRILLIANT!"

Another fine job, you guys. Sounds to me like Spike was "on," so no need for any retakes. I hereby proclaim Gremag voiced!
