So the one in the 3.0.4 isn't quite up to scratch then? A well, I get to make another party then. Whee... Good thing I already downloaded the other temple.dll.

I'm happy to say that I experimented no bugs at all about level rising.
The only unsatisfying thing is that, playing with my PG alone, he reached level 20 really a lot before the game ending. it is a pity because it would be funny to get even more levels and become an epic PG :) Anyway my half elf 4roug/6warr/3pal/7clr kicked ass seriously and was perfectly autonomous!

Instead, and this is the most ineresting thing for other players is what follow:

Arcane spellcasters (alas wizard, sorcerer and bard) who learn new spells every level, have a sort of "bug" to gain new levels. Infact they will eventually reach a point where the game ask to choose spells of level for wich there aren't spells at all, for exame it requires 6 or 7 level spells to choose to go on with the level up screen but there is noone to choose so it is impossible to complete the process. Maybe with the Wizard there is not the same limit, since it is possible to choose spells from any level (even 0) so that he may keep increasing his spellcaster level. This happens around level 13 for sorcerer.

For divine spellcasters like clerics, druids, rangers and paladins there is instead no problem at all.
Anyway, for all spellcasters it is possible to use lower level spells to fill the empty ones, so Increased or Maximized spells are a nice deal, especially for sorcerer who may choose every round if to use regular or improved spells.
Some divine spellcasters will obtain only very few spells for the level that it was impossible to reach with the previous cap.

The only sad thing is that the game doesn't have enough monsters and missions to really appreciate the cap remover. My 5 members party ended the game around level 12 or 13 making almost all the missions and completely cleaning all dungeons from monsters. It would be nice if we of Co8 forum would make a mod with a new location, a new dungeon for high level adventurers, new items and quests but probably everybody of the most skilled programmers here are too busy to spend time with such an hard project... or not?
    Matt.

It all depends on the tools we have. Currently dulcaoin and I are working on a project that *might* raise the ToEE modding to a new level, but I don't want to give any promises here because it's too early to talk about anything solid...

I really hope that it would be possible to add new areas with higher level encounters to ToEE, and we're doing our best to create the reliable tools for that. :)

    Spanish version?

Does anybody know if this patch will work in my Spanish version of the game? I wouldn't like trying to install it and have the game crashed... for my computer tends to do so quite frequently!
    Thanks!!!

For some reason I can't get the patch to work either. Message i'm getting is:

"Invalid root in registry key "HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\{AD80F06B-0F21-934D-BEF0D21E6383}\InstallLocation"

It sounds like maybe it's a problem with my Windows installation, even though i have a legit copy of Pro Corporate with SP 2. Maybe it's the location, so I reinstalled ToEE into C:\Program Files\Atari\Temple of Elemental Evil (and I downloaded the 0.11 so that shouldn't be a problem), and still nothing works. any ideas?

    driving me crazy!!!

Hey guys i know this is question has probably been asked gazillion times but i just can't seem to get it right!!! anyone can help me out would save me from this hell!!!

    1. I downloaded the official patch2 at http://www.atarisupport.com/dl.php?..._ANY-PATCH2.EXE I then ran the file and got this patch error message “Cannot locate ToEE, ANY, on your computerâ€. Would you happen to know what went wrong there??? And how can I fix this?

    2. I try to download the Windows Scripting Host from Microsoft as instructed on the webpage(http://duggelz.home.comcast.net/toee) but I can not find that software, instead, Microsoft page directed me to :
Script Debugger for Windows NT 4.0, 2000, and XP
Is this the same thing?Or otherwise where can i find it?

I’d really appreciate if anyone can help me out here as it’s really driving me crazy!!!
P.s. I have the full retail version of the game.

Ok any future poster please note:

THIS PATCH IS INCLUDED WITHIN Co8 PATCH AS STANDARD !!

Fireworm - sounds like you need a no CD patch. There is a link on the general discussion forum of these boards IIRC.

does anybody know how to fix this level cap remover problem...first time, it says "mismatch at byteOffset: 524904, patchIdx: 2, bytes are: 380 191 175", and then...
    "Script: Desktop
    Line: 264
    Char: 7
Error: Invalid procedure call or argument
    Code: 800A0005
    Source: Microsoft JScript runtime error"
is it my jscript the problem...or did I do something wrong (i have the official patch 2 installed and the official patch 1, too) and if through a miracle i manage to solve this problem, i install patch 3? Does the level cap remover go "off"?

you can remove the level cap with the ToEE Front End program (or rather set the level cap to what you want)
