Finished my lonely solo adventure with my Eldritch Knight. Bit of a struggle going over the hump of dispersing experience between fighter and wizard. Once you gain levels in EK then it becomes smooth sailing. Scather helps of course. As it was my first solo run I did miss having a cleric to nurse my wounds after each encounter. One should account for that. Don't be shy with the healing potions. You may end up with quite a lot of unspent gold at the end.
Web and fireball were quite nice to have . Any access to Arcane magic is infinitely useful. Having the ability to open locked chests is something that you may want.
Overall I recommend these things for your solo adventure : a readily available source of healing, web entangle and or grease, area effect spells (fireball, orders wrath etc) , a source of opening locked chests, crafting, and a goodly ability in melee combat.

A Sorcerer / Paladin would be a viable option for Soloing. You have combat ability, healing, divine and arcane spells, and crafting could be decent.

And both classes are charisma based. I think I might have to give it a try. :)
