Being at level six made it easier of course, but I'm sure it could be done at 5. If my party had been wounded, and was coming back to rest I don't believe I could have beaten them. I think the party should have more reason to kill those traders, usually I don't. It would be a shame for players to miss out on it.

The trap was that the skeleton priest would show up, but I got rid of the trap and just made it so the skeleton priest always showed up.

Plus I like having the skeletons with the long spears.

So if the priest was there then everything was as planned...

the Emridy Meadows stuff was a nice suprise made the map so much more challenging, retrieving the stuff from rainbow rock and trying to take down the giant, makes the entire area so much better.

I found the moathouse to be much tougher overall, Lubash, fighting the gnolls
the bugbears seem to fight smarter, all were very tough for 2nd and 3rd level PC's I found myself reloading several times and eventually restarting completely as I like to use point-buy characters and my initial class choices were really too weak for to handle the inprovements to the mod.

The only exception is lareth- the fight is still way too easy,
I would like to see lareth summon a pair of Skeletal gnolls to aid him or
since he obviously would know about the battle taking place in the next room,
When the party enters the room he should be pre-buffed give his speech and start laying it down with the staff of striking set to 3.
The fact the book is trapped and locked as well is cool.

I like the Assassin bit as well, except he always seems to crit my mage first round, definite nice touch.

Running around hommlet now seems more interesting, looking forward to nulb.

The revenge encounter is very tough, as my party was level 2 - 6 and without some important spells (especially when you consider when/where it occurs...). I loved it! It's a good job I'm saving so often though.

It really adds a lot of flavour to the game, as ordinaryjones said, so kudos again Livonya.

    ........................................................

Ok Feldrin. This is how I remember it working:

On map 5067, in the sw corner there is a room with bunkbeds and a chest named 'Feldrin's Chest'. You can approach it via two ways. A secret doorway in the nw corner of the room or a door from a corridor in the se corner of the room.

The corridor leading to the SE entrance has a lieutenant and a guard in it. These two will run off upon spotting your party and then you enter combat mode. Feldrin and his guards would come out to fight the party in the corridor. IIRC Feldrin had the 'rogue' look (and I seem to remember him sneak attacking).

If Feldrin got to a low enough HP, he'd offer you information in return for his life.

At the moment, I can't seem to get him to appear in the game at all. And certainly not in the old way. I invised up my ranger to see what was going on in the room and found something very odd - a female bugbear trapped in the se wall of the room. I got no dialogue when trying to speak to it (which may not be surprising), and when combat mode occurs it vanishes.

So I spent some time looking for a secret room to the SE/E/NE (where the guard room adjoins a black area which in turn adjoins a room with what appears to be a paddling pool) but drew a blank.

Lordgraywolfe - could you give me specific directions to where you found him in your game from the minotaur room, just so I can check I haven't missed him?

No worries, it means I can now stop trying to look for the blighter. It seems Feldrin is MIA for the moment.

Okay, I am going to see if I can't figure out what the problem is and get it working.

That should be enough information to get me into the problem.

well i think i just ran into the revenge group. i let one of the traders go to get this started. i step into my house in Nulb and there is a group waiting there. they dont do anything but stand there and wont talk to me so im not sure if they are the right ones or not also i just made 4th level so ill let them sit there for a while cause i went at them once and they tore my party appart. took out their enchantress real fast but the thugs are really tough and the priest no slouch either. ill come back after ive made a couple more levels and try again lol.

oh still havent found that merchant he must be well hidden. i have a very high communication skills in every catagory and have talked with every one in hommlet and nulb since the beautiful one. i went back and tried bringing him in the party with me but i forgot you cant get to nulb while he is with you cause no one will talk with you. so i spared his life and let him get away, didnt get the rep for moathouse clearer when i did that, and talked to everyone in hommlet didnt talk to eveyone in nulb but i gave it up as no one was saying anything diffrent than they did when i kill him. so i just killed him to get the revenge sub quest.

Well something is wrong then. Which trader lived? Which trader died?

I must have a small typo in the script.

I will get this fixed. They certainly should NOT be standing there doing nothing.

That has never happened when I was testing it... but I think it must have to do with which trader lived and which died.

You were on the right path... but just went to the wrong place to find conversations... I would be more concerned with Lareth's friends than with people that don't really know who he is...

ok well ill try that next time.....not sure i want to go back and do that over again right now....but i might just to see how it goes. i can still get the assassin by taking his neaklace and selling that.

i let the fat trader leave. i tired it both ways and i seem to get the same xp for either one but the skinny guy has better stuff on him. i had a few people in Nulb warn me that people where asking around about me. havent been back to the house since i made 5th level. im going to see if they attack now since i made a level.

They are never going to attack you. Something is wrong.

Is there a trader in that room?

When they first appear one of the traders will talk to you and then they attack. If that didn't happen then it is broken and isn't going to fix itself.

I will have to check it. I am sure there is a just a small error in the equation that figures out what should be in the room.

I will have to get it corrected for the next build.

This works fine when the fat trader (forget his name) escapes and he does his dialogue bit when the party enters. If you re-run a save game then occasionally they are no longer in the room (but do appear later on if you go exploring for a bit and return). Not tried it by killing the fat trader and letting the thin one escape.

Their appearance is random. It will not happen every time. So if you save before you enter the room and then enter it again they may or may not be there. I didn't want things to be static and predictable. I'm trying as much as possible to add random events...

My 1.5 build has a lot of random things that will be different every single time you play as the very first time you start the game numbers will be generated by random that will then be used to determine some things for the rest of the game. Hopefully in this way player A will say, "Hey, I found this at point Y" and player B will, "Say, strang in my game that was at point X". Anything to add a bit of re-play difference is good.
