Which two traders are these? I know the quiet guy in the barn on the north side of the river, but where's the other guy?

Sad Exchange - we're referring to the two traders in the same room in the building west of the barn you already know. They are called Ramos and Gremag.

Livonya, any chance you could look at the friendly NPCs (Freulla, Meleny, Elmo, etc.) and review their starting ability scores? For example, I just leveled up Meleny and noticed that some of her scores are suboptimal.

Meleny's ability scores as a 1st level Druid are:

Str: 8 (not bad, she won't be in melee)
Dex: 12 (She's okay with a sling or light crossbow)
Con: 10 (needs help with this one)
Int: 10 (no extra skill points)
Wis: 15 (not bad - important ability score for Druids)
Cha: 17 (what a waste of points!)

If I was building Meleny as a PC, I'd drop her Cha to 14. Then, I'd raise her Con to 12 and Wis to 16. I could drop her Cha even lower and really boost up Con and add some points to Int. I realize this is shameless min/maxing on my part. I suppose the programmers wanted her Cha to be high as part of her marriage quest. As she is, I'm tempted to level her up as a Sorceress.

I know the enemy NPCs are much, much better with your awesome mod. Assuming the player rolls up an above average PC, a suboptimal friendly NPC might not stay in the party and complete the game. If Meleny is dying on a regular basis in the temple, she will spend the rest of her time in Hommlet in my game.

I personallly think she makes a way better sorceress than anything else. I'm using her as such and she's sure worth keeping around! I'd suggest if you're going to change anything, make her start as a level one sorc, not a druid. Just my opinion though.

Anyways, I do have a question about the mod... I was wondering if you could give us a hint on the hard to find merchant... I've been looking around and talking to people as much as I can and haven't turned up anything on it.

    Question

Hey, I was just wondering if anyone has set off the Target of Revenge reputation/sub-plot.

And if so did you reach the conclusion?

Was it too hard? Too easy?

Since you were running around testing all those NPCs. What do you think about all the changes I made?

Were there any that were now too easy or too hard?

well for the combats none of them seemed any harder than before which means they are still to easy.

for the ones that will join you all the ones in hommlet worked out great. lareth seemed about the same. if with you you still make the people mad in hommlet but in a fight he is a wimp and dies quick. did run into the assassin afteward and he wasnt to tough he managed to hurt 2 of my charcters before we dropped him. i was 3rd level at the time. i didnt pick up all the npc's in nulb but the ones i did seemed the same as before no change in thier diologe or actions. in the temple i didnt go all the way through but the minor npcs i ran into all seemed the same. something seemed diffrent about the high priests of the temples when i talked to them but i couldnt put my finger on it.

no problems in the temple except the fire temple which i always run a bit slow when the salamanders show up for some reason.

all in all the changes seem to work great and i cant wait to see more postive changes for the rest of the game.

maybe those ogres and gnolls wont be such a push over this time through lol

The revenge battle is pretty tough, luckily for me the first time I fought it I was just resting to get a few spells I decided to change.I still lost. My characters were level 4 or 5, I ended up leaving and coming back after I leveled up. It is a fun battle, but very hard, I felt very satisfied beating them. Confusion would often be my parties downfall. It took me a few try's and I did beat them a few times but felt I'd lost too many party members and reloaded. In the end I beat them without losing anyone.

I wanted to add I really liked the way the whole thing worked out. It gave me a reason to visit some of the places in nulb I would normally just skip over. The situation gives the game an "actions have consequences" sort of a feeling.

Okay, awesome. Sounds like it is working as intended, as what you descirbe is what I was looking for.

I made it so this encounter would not occur until your party average was at least level 5... maybe I should bump it up to level 6?

had a question Liv. didnt i see somewhere on here before that there was supose to be a trap in emirdry meadows now? this is the first time ive been to the meadow since i added your mod. i did like the priest at the rainbow rock though. if he was there before i never noticed him but his spells made getting to the rock a little more challanging than before especially at 2nd level ;)
