Okay, I do believe we'll skip the regional patrol for now. That means you guys are close to going 'live.' The main thing I'd still like to do before that is include a quasi nodes lag fix so that you could test that too while you're there.

Alright, I've finished up the current join-Hextor routine (the simple one) and just need to feel it out with a bit more internal testing on my end. And I think we're going to proceed without the node lag fixes due to (surpise!) that being more inconclusive than we hoped. So it shouldn't be much longer. Sorry this is taking so long, but that's how it goes.

No worries, all we have to do is wait, you're the one doing all the work. ;)

Please, Gaear commands/owns a army of coding gnomes. All he does is eat grapes and occasionally yell at them.

    I'm tired of his excuses ... ;)

Okay, you testers have been PMed the link to the download. The download is a .rar archive like in days gone by as opposed to an installer. (We'll do an installer for the real deal release but you guys don't need niceties. ;))

Open the .rar and extract the contents to your ToEE root folder. Launch TFE-X and select 'Circle of Eight Modpack 7 BETA' and activate it in order to start playing. Ignore the fact that the image says Co8 6.1.0, and also ignore that that's what it says when the game launches.

Otherwise, just start playing and keep track/report back on the stuff I asked you to earlier. Things won't get interesting NC-wise until level 10 or thereabouts, I expect.

One thing to watch out for in general is jerkstop. I redid most all of the Hommlet exterior mobs that we originally added (kids et al) and outright shitcanned a handful that were suspicious in some ways, so there is a vaugue possibility that that may resolve jerkstop. Let me know if you ever get it.

One other note: the game will no longer automatically end after you fight Zuggtmoy. This means that you don't have to artificially delay fighting her for fear that you won't get the Verbo NC. So, you should proceed how you 'normally' would, whatever that is. Based on story state, Verbo becomes available after you learn of the temple factions (generally temple level 1-2), and WotGS will become available after you learn of Z-moy (generally temple level 3-4, I think). So take on Z-moy whenever it feels right to you.

    Begin! :)

Woot! I am excited. I will start as soon as possible, which probably means next week since I am working on a huge project at the moment. Literally not sleeping because it is all I think about these days.

I seem to be having an issue with response times with the beta version.

What I mean by response times is; when I click on anything that opens a new window in game ie ... inventory, map, rest, or what have you.

I seem to have the same delay as usually experienced when pressing escape to bring up the save menu.

This is not a big issue, just thought I'd mention it.

There's no reason for that to be happening ... might try reactivating the module.

    Will do.

Oh, and I also changed the names of all the movies due to my game crashing when cinematics are played.

Is that normal for you or a new thing? That will be a shame because you'll miss 2 new movies (and a new mini end movie). In fact, one movie is sort of mission-critical for WotGS.

    Gaear,

I think I may have a corrupt game because things are acting weird. I started my party as follows:

    1. Fighter - Glaive - Human - Female - Hextor
    2. Cleric - Human - Male - Hextor - Heavy Flail
    3. Mage - Human - Female - Staff
    4. Druid - Human - Female - Scimtar

I planned on getting Furnok. First weird thing is that when I killed the alcolyte at the burning church, magic misled fizzled. The motion and the sound happen, but no graphic nor damage. The combat tracker says 'XXX casts magic missile' and that is all. I have tried casting it in more fights, and same. Bug or corrupt game?

Even more weird is the following. After shopmap I am in Hommlet and I run to the inn. I talk to the innkeeper, find out about long term lodging. Then Elmo talked to me, I ignore him. Talk to Furnok, catch him cheating. He wants to join, I string him along, he offers me a potion, I refuse. As I am walking to the innkeeper (note it is nighttime and everyone is in the inn) Mickey stops me and says his line “I promise! I haven’t been back to that evil town… ect” and I let him go.

I then talk to the innkeeper and everything is normal except magic missile. I thought the Mickey thing was really weird though since I just started the game. Isn't that a line from when you catch him in Nulb?

Do you think these problems are from a corrupt install or beta bugs?

    Gaear,

I feared my install was corrupt so I used the control panel to uninstall Toee. Then I deleted everything left in the Toee folder. Then I reinstalled Toee, patch 1, patch 2, (the dot net wont work with win7) and then TFE. Activated V7.

I played the game and didnt have the Mickey issues in the inn. However the magic missile issue still remains. Also, and I could be wrong on this, I feel like my characters are being encumbered sooner (with less weight) than ever before). For example, my fighter with 17 strength, 30 weight plate, black leather boots and gloves and a glaive becomes encumbered from looting the NE intro alcolyte (with chain and some other things on him). I dont recall that being right.

I am going to stop installing/playing until you advise on the magic missile issue. All my wizard has on is black wizard robes, brown farmed garb underneath, black leather boots and gloves, and a light xbox. There is a staff in inventory. Nothing should make her fail a spell.

This is a new computer that I havent played Toee on, so that might be a change. Also, in your 'Toee for wide screen monitors' post you say that Toee cant be played in 1920x1080 but it works fine for me without editing the file.

@Ranth; I'm running Win7 (64) with a Sceptre 40" HDTV as a monitor and I am usually able to run the game well, only problem that has been lately is the movies.

@Gaear; I've re-activated the mod and am still having the delayed response issue. I just recently experienced non-working doors in the moat-house. The stairs work fine, it's just the doors leading out, (hidden and non-hidden).
I will do a complete re-install as soon as time permits and report back.
