Does anyone know what this movie is about? Has anyone seen it? What say ye about Pan's Labyrinth? OR :thumbsdow
i've been wanting to see it i've heard that its good; dont know much about it but im pretty sure the critics liked it It got Academy awards for cinematography, makeup and art direction, as well as some BAFTA's too. theres a brief synopsis here if you're interested http://movies.aol.com/movie/pans-labyrinth/25436/synopsis
My sis saw it in melborne and said it was good, its not even out here yet for some stupid reason. You could look at a trailer and/or read a review to find out what its about - it is subtittled, spanish is the language spoken in it, literally translated the tittle should be "The Labyrinth of the Faun."
The reason I ask is because the teaser trailor and the trailor make it look 'different'. They show a fascist military police involvement and some other stuff that could indicate it is more of a melodramtic thriller, semi-horror flick and less of a sci-fi, fantasy movie.
The story is set during second world war in europe, while german troops occupied most of europe, the main chartacter is then visited by a faun/satyr and introduced to a magical realm in which she is told she is a princess... I haven't seen the whole movie, so I can't spoil the story any further.
Actually it's set in Spain under rule of general Franco. Well, it's almost the same what Al said, just being more specific.
Isn't this the same guy that did Hellboy? I hope it comes to pay per view soon. I got a kick out of Hellboy 1 and 2.
Description of recent change of Pope: "A swift German annexing of formerly Polish territory..." Apologies to any passing Poles
