I forgot to state the obviously overpowered Periapt of Wound Closure, which grants regeneration rather than as RAW:

    Periapt of Wound Closure

This stone is bright red and dangles on a gold chain. The wearer of this periapt automatically becomes stable if his hit points drop to between -1 and -9 inclusive. The periapt doubles the wearer’s normal rate of healing or allows normal healing of wounds that would not do so normally. Hit point damage that involves bleeding is negated for the wearer of the periapt, but he is still susceptible to damage from bleeding that causes Constitution loss, such as that dealt by a wounding weapon.

I really like that item as is but, as with the Brooch of Shielding, it is way too cheap considering what it does.

Oh, and even though an item may only have limited market availability it can still be crafted.

You know, I thinks there's something wrong with the way the periapt works.

IIRC, I gave it to my Dwarf Fighter. All damage done to him was subdual type. This doesn't seem to mesh with the description as stated.

BTW, it appears that this item has not changed from back in it's 1st Ed days.

Regeneration turns normal damage into subdual damage, that's why :)

Only the katana is considered masterwork. There are no regular versions of it.
As Cujo said, the Katana is considered a masterwork bastard sword because the craftmanship. Technically speaking, should be way more expensive than a bastard sword and less available.
But that's because in the game having a katana is regarded as an honour.

Game-wise, there shouldn't be a difference between a masterwork bastard sword and a katana, since there are no oriental rules (or game interaction)

A nodachi has normal versions (it is considered simply an oriental greatsword), so it shouldn't be different than a greatsword.

I can't see why silver weapons can't be available, since you can add that property by adding 50 gp to the price, even to non masterwork weapons.
A silvered katana should cost the same than a bastard sword plus 300 gp (masterwork) plus 50gp (silver) and a bit more (maybe around 100gp) because the work and rarity of it.

HK's not from Australia; he's from Brazil.

Please continue to discuss this stuff if you want to guys, but it's too late in the day for any more changes to make it into 5.6. If only we'd discussed it so passionately two weeks ago ...

Is there still a Wand of Chain Lightning? That one is not rules compliant.

It's the only wand based on a level 6 spell and Chain Lightning is the only level 6 spell you can scribe scroll for. Why Troika put it in the original game when it only goes to level 10 and a wizard has to be level 11 or higher to gain a 6th level spell, nobody knows. Is it in the Craft Wand list? Why would a wizard have such a powerful weapon locked in a chest and not on their person for use? Maybe it's just loot and Falrinth doesn't know for sure what it is. I guess he spends all his time studying the Orb. It works and it's good loot but I wouldn't mind if it went away.

Throw in some heels, make it a +3 bonus; add a whip to get +5.

Crikey! Spike's back - look busy! :kirby:

Chain Lightening was almost certainly added purely for sex appeal: note that they used it extensively in advertising. It just looks good.

It won't be in the Craft Wand list, because the game correctly limits wands to level 4 spells or lower when crafting them, IIRC.

    vest of escape:
    1. Freedom of movement always on
    2. Slotless (Costs 50gp more than a ring of freedom of movement which takes up a slot)
    3. Cheap (the ring is also underpriced)
    4. Prereqs are "knock" and "grease" instead of freedom of movement spell.
    5. No level prereq to craft.
