    Re: Current mods & patches

You are sure all windows were closed?

Okay, you are going to have to find a file called TempleFrontend.ini in the ToEE root directory. This might be difficult since your configuration doesn display file extensions. If you highlight the correct file, in the sidebar on the left it should say TempleFrontend.ini, and beneath it Configuration Settings. You need to delete this file. Then restart your computer and try again.

Yes. Closed all windows, then restarted the computer to get a "fresh" start. Could not find the file TempleFrontend.ini or any file that said configuration settings. I even did a search for TempleFrontend.ini. The only thing that came up was the Rich Text Format file called TempleFrontend. Also could not open this file. Said to "close all dialog windows"?

Hmm. This has really got me puzzled. Could another program be accessing the root directory? An antivirus program perhaps? Do you have anything running in the background?

The only thing I can think to do at this point is a complete uninstall of Co8 4.0.0 and ToEE, including deleting the whole Atari folder, and then reinstall everything.

Yes, I have McAfee firewall, auto virus scan, a privacy shield and spy subtract.

Yeah, already deleted everything and started over... twice. I'm going to shut down some securities and see if that helps. If not, this friggin' thing is goin out the window.:biggergri

Huh? We would love to help you, but unfortunately you really didn't provide us with any information to go on. Brevity, especial when asking for help with a computer game, is not always the best idea. Try again, and provide us with some information about your install, and the exact nature of the problem.

 Yes! It works! I deleted all files pertaining to mod, game, and patches. Then reinstalled the game, a third time. Turns out I missed deleting some files the first two times. Thank you, Cerulean, and all others who take the time to help out. And for making a very good game an incredible game on your own time by modding it, that's frik'n above and beyond. Thanks again.

    Re: Current mods & patches

    Hello everyone,

I did all of the above and when I try to run the TempleFrontend.exe, I get the following application error:

"The application failed to initialize properly (00xc0000135). Click on OK to terminate the application".

This happens when I use the desktop shortcut, as well as the .exe file from the ToEE folder.

    Any solutions please?

    Thanks in advance.

    Re: Current mods & patches

Did you try the new visitors or common problems threads which are stickied?

In any case, my guess would be that you didn't notice that you needed to install Microsoft .NET if you want to use the frontend. (It does say that in the post as well as in the readme :) ).

If this is the case, delete your current installation. Install Microsoft .NET (links in the common problems thread which is stickied) and then reinstall the game and patch it up according to how it is listed in the common problems thread.

    Re: Current mods & patches

The game keeps on crashing whenever I enter certain buildings, Iv'e tried reinstalling the Co8 4.0 mod pack and that hasn't helped. The error report says it's something to do with the temple.dill. Can anyone help me?

    Re: Current mods & patches

Try doing a complete uninstall/reinstall of ToEE.

    1. In this order, uninstall the Co8 4 MOD, the ToEE game, and ToEEFE [if you installed ToEEFE] using Add or Remove Programs in the control panel; delete the remaining ToEE folders and ToEEFE folders [if you installed ToEEFE]; reboot the computer

    2. Install ToEE; apply Atari Patch1 & Patch2; install Co8 4 MOD; install ToEEFE [if you want to install and use ToEEFE]; reboot the computer

Ufotunately, even with patches&mods, ToEE has too many bugs to live up to it's true potential. Curses on Atari!:finger:
