    Problem with making portrait packs into regular add-on modules is that you can only have one add-on installed at a time. We generally need to reserve that for patches. (There will probably have to be a 7.2.1 patch add-on, for example).

    @Philip - I think it would be cool to make a for-real (i.e. 'official') pack with some of these, but they would have to be limited to individual artists. For example, a Daarken Portrait Pack. If you don't feel inclined to do that, I may sometime. Thanks for the research/links. :)

    Hmmm, I could've swore that at one time it was discussed as an easy way to enable custom portraits.

    EDIT: Oh my, so should I have removed the previous patches before installing the latest one that you posted?

    No - you only have to worry about that if it's a true add-on pack, such as you would activate via TFE-X.

    Only one add-on pack can be active in a module at a time, so if you had a portrait pack add-on installed and then wanted to add a patch that we released as an add-on pack, adding the second patch would deactivate the portrait pack add-on. And vice-versa.

    OK, then why can't we leave the patches to the "extract to your TOEE directory" type and use the other feature for, well ... add ons like portraits and such?

    again, this is just my wanting to know. I'm sure you have an overall plan that would baffle my humble intellect Gaear.

    Although ... I did actually see you make a mistake recently. heh heh heh :poke:

    That's right, one whole mistake in how many years?

    Never! ;)

    Well the answer is pretty simple - portrait packs are elective, while a patch (say like the Nulb thing) can be mandatory. If we are forcing it on you, it should be done the most hassle-free way.
