Well, to help you will have to rewrite the engine: thats what you are asking for Grapple, and as for the touch spells thing, well that would probably be easier to do but how you would link Touch Spells and Sneak Attacks or Unnarmed Strikes, I wouldn't know where to begin to look.

How are your reverse engineering skills?

Good'un ya!! My reverse engineering skills will be more than adequate in my next life. Thank you for satisfying my curiosity.

Would it be possible to modify the requirements of Diehard to have two alternative prerequisites: Great Fortitude, or Ranger 3?

In theory, yes, but I am not sure anyone here atm knows how.

I know a 'break' feat was breifly mentioned above, but can I give my take on it?

Personally, I feel this feat would be an amazin gaddition, since it would actually give a reason for NPCs carrying multiple weapons and side arms...

Prerequisites: Strength 18, base attack bonus +4 (?)

D020 + Str roll. Roll has to equal or exceed the weapon types AC (Light weapon, AC-12; Normal Weapon, AC-14; Two handed weapon, AC-16, Light shield/buckler AC-15, Heavy Shield AC-20, Tower shield AC-22)

The feat would be activated like trip attack, and would target the selected opponents held weapon. If the enemy uses a shield, the attack will default to this instead. Masterwork weapons gain a +1 to AC, while magical weapons cannot be broken (unless by another magic weapon, possibly?)

I can't imagine this would be TOO hard to implement, and would add a fun extra dynamic to combat

What to people thing? I don't know if it's PNP accurate, but it would be a fun addition that would take away the annoyance of having to script each weapon (The check used the weapon type instead)

The damage destroys the weapon outright, for simplicities sake.

[Deletes the long mocking post] Ok, since you have the good sense to inform us you are not a pnp player, I can say curteously that you sound like you are asking for 'Sunder'. Its theoretically possible, but would be a lot of work and would still involve a .dll hack.

...Sorry for trying to make a suggestion.

My method seems much simpler to implement, involving an AC check VS D20 roll, but I suppose you guys have other considerations in mind. After gaining a little bit more experience, I'll have a go at scripting something simmilar for my own personal use and report back.

Meh, I forgive you. If you can get this working, great! It would be a huge leap forward. I merely recommend you follow the canonical 'Sunder' idea since it is already there.
How were you planning on adding this to the radial menu?

Any interest in creating a replacement class ability for the paladin's mount? If so, consider PHB2's replacement option Charging Smite:

Benefit - Starting at 5th level, if you smite a creature on a charge attack you deal 2 extra points of damage per paladin level to any evil creature you hit (in addition to the normal damage bonus dealt by the smite). Of the charge attack misses, the smite is not considered used. This is a supernatural ability.

Thats definitely a .dll hack: if we could do that, we cuold fix the 'non-lethal damage on charging' issue. But its a perfectly good idea, just not something we could do atm.

What non-lethal damage on charging issue?

I saw a comment on Sunder but I think Disarm would be even easier to implement - or not!

Yes it would, IF we could add new options to the radial menu during combat. We can't - those are all calls directly to the engine. We can only easily modify scripts (like spells and such) or introduce ocmplicated scripting workarounds, or occasionally fix something obvious in the engine like changing an errant '+2' to '+4'. Writing new sections of the engine is insanely difficult plus there is the problem of where to put them - we can't really expand the .dll, as we could if we had the source code and could properly recompile it.

What if instead of giving a Paldin a special mount, we give him a "celestial companion"?

    Much like familiars for wizards...

For example, when the ability it's available (4 or 5 level), then you get the list and choose a companion from there, but they would be much more though than familiars.
It would be more or less RAW, since there's a prestige class that turns a chaotic good charcter into a kind of chaotic good paladin, but instead of a mount it gets the celestial companion.

Of course, all this if new abilities can be added to basic charcters...

    I. H_K, you are referring to the Holy Liberator from Complete Divine.
The allowed animals are: cat, eagle, hawk, warhorse, owl, pony, riding dog, or wolf.

II. From the Monster Manual, but can be applied to PC/NPCs.......
Ability Focus (stunning fist): Add +2 to the DC.

Hum, i've readed the "help with animations please" thread of Cuchulainn.

I too think that spiked shield would be the best solution.
Apparently, he seemed to have a solution for the shield rotating in combat mode.
Alternatively, the new Kukri model could be tried. It's wielded as a shield, and in combat rotates in the correct angle.
And now, we know that we can get rid of the goofy animations ;)

Btw, i do like the idea of spell components. A belt equipable in the thief's tools slot would make it ? (just to save time and troubles, we could assume that the wiz/sorc re-fill the belt periodically)
Tho i don't know how to prevent the charcter to cast spells without the belt. It would be cool, and give interestig plot situations, for example, PCs taken prisoners :evil_laug
Of course, the same should be done with clerics n druids (holy symbol, and gold sickle needed respectively)
