I hope you had a good day and night.

No snow here, although I think I would trade the
summer heat/humidity for snow. I know how to
keep warm when I am living in snow country. But
darned if I know how to get cool here in Florida
in the summer unless I have A/C.

Drove my pickup truck here for a year w/o A/C
because you didn't need it where I came from.
Now, that was miserable. A cold washcloth on
the back of the neck was the only way I survived
it. (Think I've said that before?)

To all who sleep tonight on this side of the earth,

    The Nightly Mission:

Sleep warm, sleep safe, sleep sound.

    Wake up tomorrow and sing.

    May the Lady smile
    on you and me too.

    G'Night!

I hope you had a good day and night.

My cat is shedding...piles of hair. Another
sure sign of Spring coming. My absolutely
favorite season (save for the cat hair).

I spent a good deal of money on a tool
to remove shedding hair from the cat
before it winds up on the rug and
furniture. I'm going to try it out
tomorrow and see if it works. The vet
told me it would, so now if my cat will
only hold still and let me use it on him...

The dark moon is coming soon, and so
is Valentine's Day. This ought to be
    interesting. I wonder what everyone
is going to do for their special someone?

To all who sleep tonight on this side of the earth,

    The Nightly Mission:

When the river is dark and muddy
and running fast, fraught with wild
    currents swirling around, floating
debris, sharp rocks, that's the time
to surface for air, swim for all you
are worth and head for land.

So it is with the untrainable mind
that seeks sleep. Find the land.
    Ground yourself. Breathe. And
    sleep will come.

When you get up in the morning,
    you'll feel more awake.

    May the Lady smile
    on you and me too.

    G'Night.

    I STILL can't stop laughing. :p

Let me tell you about the time my one-armed son tried to use a hair dryer on the dog...

I've got two cats who are like that 365 days a year. Try the vacuum cleaner.

Dinner at our favourite French Bistro. Reservations all set!

J already got her roses and loves them!

    So far, so good!

I hope you had a good day and that the night fairs well.

Long day. And not worth talking about.

To all who will sleep tonight on this side of the darkening earth,

    The Nightly Mission:

Sweet dreams, and may they all
come true. Sleep warm and safe.

    Wake up tomorrow.

    May the Lady smile
    on you and me too.

    G'Night.

I hope you had a good day and the night goes well.

Have a great time tonight with your loved one, if
you have one. Romance is definitely in the air.

Tonight, the moon comes dark, as befits the
Lunar New Year. The Chinese usher in the
Year of the Tiger, I believe. So there are
celebrations of one kind or another all
over the globe, I expect, whether on
    a personal note or universal.

To all who will sleep tonight on this side of the dark earth,

    The Nightly Mission:

Sail high on the energy of the dark moon,
into the heights of your sweetest dreams.

    Wake up tomorrow smiling.

    May the Lady smile
    on you and me too.

    G'Night!

I hope you had a good day and the night goes well.

    Dark and quiet outside. Nice.

    But cold. Still.

When I drive a stretch of road repeatedly, like I do to work,
I tend to break it down into sections: the halfway point, the
quarter, the third, etc. It makes it seem like the drive goes
shorter. I think I am going to start doing that with Spring. So
we are almost 2/3 of the way there. Assuming my calculations
    are roughly correct.

I hope no one had a bad day today. For a contrived holiday,
there sure is a lot of us that buy into it. Including me.

To all who will sleep tonight on this side of the dark earth,

    The Nightly Mission:

    Acceptance is the key.
    Get that one, and all
    the rest will fall into
    place.

    Start with emptying out
    your mind before falling
    into sleep.

    Wake up the next morning
    and things will go forward
    without all the baggage.

    May the Lady smile
    on you and me too.

    G'Night!

I hope you had a good day and the night follows suit.

I saw a Cardinal today, singing in one of the live oaks. It
    seems very early for that...

I am reminded of the adage "One Swallow does not a
summer make." One Cardinal does not a spring make,
either. Still, I will be looking for more. (Crossing my
    fingers.)

To all who will sleep tonight on this side of the still dark earth,

    The Nightly Mission:

    Sleep warm and safe.
    Wake up shining.

    May the Lady smile
    on you and me too.

    G'Night.

We have cardinals before spring. I'll bet we are earlier on their migration route.

I hope you had a good day and night.

We are having a hard freeze tonight. That's
over 4 hours of temps below 32 degrees F.
Elsewhere, this might be laughable, but not
here in Florida. The air mass responsible for
this is expected to stick around for awhile...
looks like another 4 days of very cold temps.

I knew it was cold when I walked out of where
I work and started my car. The steering wheel
was so cold, I wished I had my arm warmers.

Cold weather keeps people here indoors. I've
heard they are expecting a baby boom late
this summer. It did make driving home faster
    though. No traffic.

I'm putting out bird feed tomorrow for the
    Cardinals.

To all who sleep tonight on this side of the earth,

    The Nightly (and brief) Mission:

Stay safe and warm in your nest of blankets.

Shiver your way into your clothes in the morning.

    May the Lady smile
    on you and me too.

    G'Night.

Sunflower seeds. I remember Cardinals really like those. That was the kind of seed we put out during the Winter months. Attracted a good number of them, too. The Males we're easy going, sharing the feeder with the other birds. The Females, however, insisted on having a side all to themselves.

I hope you had a good day and night.

The winter grass (if you want to call it that) got mowed
today, by the boy down the street. I went out and piled
up the branches that got blown down by the last big
storm we had, and except for the bushes that need
trimming, the yard looks decent. The neighbors across
the street will be...well, maybe not happy...but satisfied,
    perhaps. Perhaps.

I put the birdseed out, and yes there are sunflower seeds
in with the other types of seeds. Just for the Cardinals.

I have decided to stop asking the Lady for clarity and
instead ask for trust. Blind trust.

To all who sleep tonight on this side of the earth,

    The Nightly Mission:

    A warm heart when you
go to bed will do more
    to keep your feet warm
    than piles of blankets.

    And will carry you
    through the day when
    you wake up the next
    morning.

    May the Lady smile
    on you and me too.

    G'Night!
