Most definitely. I would be more than glad to help in any way, financial, writing, etc. Go for it.

Count me in. I'm starving for a new D&D adventure using the ToEE user interface.

Since TOEE right now is the only real turn-based 3.5e game, with absolutely NO MORE in sight, I am certainly in support of a tool release. If Atari is worried about lost profits because Co8 might release mods that people would rather play than a new Atari D&D game, then perhaps they should think about making another turn-based game, and without the bugs this time...

The following came up in a chat with Taluntain, an experienced person in Atari games:

Well, all points should equally be considered. Keep the opinions coming, guys. ;)

Taluntain may have a point. Atari after all have cancelled all support for NWN for similar reasons. Even support which would cost them nothing and might even make them a little money.

Still backing whichever action you may want to take, Agetian, but the timing may not be ideal.

I'll add my name to the list. Heh hell I'll make multiple E-mails and spam Atari with them till they respond if you like.

The actions of "us" as a group should be carefully well thought out and planned - coordinated with what Co8 wants or says we need to do or ask when Co8 says to proceed with an action or request. Our actions or requests should not be outrageous or horrific.

I don't think the timing will ever be right.

So there is no time like the present.

Atari's desision not to release the tools, may have had something to do with the fact that the shipped disk, contained content that they could not legally allow, and maintain the censorship rating. The children and the brothel, are in the dat files hidden from view, but if the tools were released would have been instantly available to all. Just a possibity to ponder as to what the reason was.

My opinion is that as long as we just politely ask a Yes or No question, and respect the answer whether it is in our favour or not. It shouldn't cause too much of a stir. What is the harm of asking the question, if you don't ask the answer will always remain NO.

I wonder what would happen if you sent the request say a month after NWN2 has been released, while it's still selling?

Yeah...I'm on board with this. I don't think it'll have a snowball's chance in Hell...but I doubt it will hurt. The official Spike prediction is "no response" from the corporate.

I am in favour. Sad that a game would depend on the modding community to do its dirty work then ask for permission/duties. But life is like that. Sad. Almost as if this was planned through. I hope not, but I would not be suprised.

This has all been debated before but the name of the game is Money and profit. Co8 has done nothing to hurt Atari's profit margin and no fees or money has changed hands. No harm, no foul. A response, one way or another is what's needed. The game industry people have a low opion of modders in general, even tho a number of the employees do it on the side. If it weren't for Co8 the game would have been history long ago. Just a response of somekind would be nice. The worst case is a drop dead, cease and desist order, go away, don't bother me. What the hell, go for it. The only loser will be Atari.
