Just got into the Temple. Any advice on picking up magic greatsword or long spear? If not, what about a good place to get masterworks versions of these (in or out of temple)?
There's a +1 Holy ransuer on the second level behind a hidden door in the big round room, with a nasty spirit type thingy guarding it.
Otis (the blacksmith in Nulb) sells a Masterwork Greatsword. Brother Smyth (the blacksmith in Hommlet) will sell masterwork weapons if you accept and complete his quest to give him the head of a hill giant (i.e. the hill giant at Emridy Meadows). Brother Smyth has a random chance of selling a Masterwork Greatsword, and he has a random chance of selling a Masterwork Longspear. The Drow Fighter in the Gnarley Forest wields a Masterwork Greatsword (or at least he did in the Circle of Eight Modpack 5.8.1 NC). Any character who has the Craft Magic Arms & Armor feat is able to convert a masterwork weapon in to a +1 or +2 or +3 magical weapon. Frostbrand +3 Feat: Greatsword Damage: 1d12 +1d6 cold damage Critical Range: 19-20/ x2 Special: The wielder harmlessly absorbs the first 10 points of damage from any fire-based attack made against him.
