Well, against my better judgement, I'm going to give it a look. ONLY because there's a remote chance it might be any good due to Sci-fi's recent record with Battlestar. Most Sci-fi channel fare absolutely blows, as did the first d&d movie...

    ...such a waste.

Anyone remember UFO? Now that's science fiction!

I vaguely remember this tv show...for me at that time, it was a childs dream tv show unlike anything ever else on tv.

The SciFi channel in the last two years has gotten an increasing amount of more money in their budget and made better movies.

I know you just don't judge a movie by previews, but judging by the previews on D&D II.............I believe that it will be better than the first picture. :nerd:

Should I start another thread about this, right next to this one, Atari Forums style? ;)

I had the UFO toys as a kid, the Interceptor and the crawler tank rocket launcher thingy. I mentioned this to a collector at a party a couple years back, he offered me $200 each, site unseen, didn't care they were beaten up and played with as he restores.

I had to say no, they are family heirlooms now :(

I managed to catch the last 1.5 hours; and since I DVR'd it, saw the first .25 hours. I'll give it another go all at once-like tomorrow to see if I can give it an honest rating...

Anyone catch the reference to D-2...

"Hey, remember what we did in the Shrine of the Kuo-toa?"

...as they tried to enter the dungeon in the forest?

I'll be looking for others when I watch again. I believe that the rogue mentioned the Barrier Peaks as well...

BTW, am I alone in thinking this looked like a pilot? Lots of stuff left open for more. I phoned Lord_Zorn, and he's anxious to see it now. He remarked that a dragon puking on the first film would actually be better than the first film...I'd have to agree.

Last thing...I thought the D&D commercials were actually quite good.
