Commandoes modern combat run Toee

    I was thinkin of a fun mod that could be done.

    I wanted to make some swat and combat gear for armor

    and make modern weapons such machine guns semi auto handguns sub-9m guns

    and grenades and smoke nades and flash and HE .

    so the PC party would be geared to be from the future and nothing else.

    maybe make for a fun run through that would be just different.

    so if any one would like to help me with rules or proto typin or scripting or particle effect scripting

    to help complete this mod you can volunteer here.

    I was going to start with the vanila version (the origional disk version) that would patched

    only to fix the Direct X looting bug.

    I am going to work on the textures and models for the PC's aformentioned

    to get started.

    I'm not certain if there are any modern warfare d20 gaming systems, but I do know there was a Star Wars d20 system rpg that basically uses very similar rules to d&D 3rd edition, you could research that for inspiration for the weapons stats etc...

    actually allyx the 3.5 rule set of d&d actually dealves into futuristic

    weapons and munitions such as fire arms.

    I dont think doing the rules with a little improvisions is a problem.

    I used to play a little pnp d&d and still own the 3.5 rule books and guides.




    here is what I had in mind with possible dex bonuses added to attack roll to hit
    due to them being of masterwork


    assualt rifles 3d12 damage to simulate auto matic weapons damage 3 birst rounds
    submachine guns 3d10 damage
    semi auto hand gun 1d10 with 2 attacks like a repeating crossbow

    area effects damage like fireball

    grenadez 5d4
    he grenade 8d4
    stun grenades : like hold person spell
    smoke grenade : concelement
    exetra

    1 round in d&d is equivelent to 6 seconds

    Yeah, I know the DM's Guide has rules to govern firearms etc... but they are usually the exception rather than the rule, not to mention those weapons would severely disrupt the balance of the game.

    Though what I think most people haven't thought of yet, is the possibility of using the ToEE engine as a base to build potentially ANY D20 system game on. Be it Star Wars or D20 Modern or whatever. Adjusting the feats in the engine to suit whichever D20 system you choose. The hard bit obviously would be building the modules to use those systems.

    yea building maps is very tedious and time consuming.

    map building takes longer then modifying models for characters.


    a level of star wars would be interesting I played that game maybe once or twice.


    as far asbuilding a whole compaign as large as toee would take a few years I imagine

    even with a few people working it.

    I made an m-16 gun model out of the heavy crossbow gave it an inv icon,
    an attack sound and changed its damage to 3d12.

    I made a new texture for studded leather to appear like armored battle dress.

    Plan to make a helm next .
