This is what I remember. I think I also said that when it came up earlier.

I believe we will see many fixes to the spells available and how they work in the next patch, .02. :)

But Holy Aura is also a general Clr 8 spell (says d20srd.org) and should ward against any "evil spells and spells cast by evil creatures". Isn't just about everyone in this game who would cast a spell on someone protected by Holy Aura evil? Methinks one could just give them SR 25 and get this 95% right, which certainly beats many other calculations of the ToEE engine.

Heh heh, you got a point there.

My question is, how would your suggestion act with an evil party that has a neutral cleric?

Do neutral clerics get spells with the "Good" descriptor? But in any case, also evil parties will face mostly evil spellcasters, and although it seems strange, it looks like the spell should protect them, too.

But I realize now that the problem might be more with the companion spell Unholy Aura, since it would protect evil parties from evil spellcasters, which could be a more frequent occurrence and should not happen.

Hm. Alternative idea: could the spell script upon casting check the alignment of enemy spellcasters and confer SR or not accordingly, maybe taking into account only the most high-level enemy spellcaster it finds?

Any ETA for a patch ?

I came back to ToEE with CO8 after a decade and I'm surprised and happy to see it is still alive and better than ever. Together with the great GOG price it is a must have again. I want to start a new run, should I wait for a patch or will this take more than a month ? Is 8.1 NC stable and playable as is apart from the usual unfixable ToEE problems?

Thanks CO8 for this incredible support.

I would go ahead a start your adventure if I were you, the next patch hasn't been given a time frame yet.

To clarify; I have not been told of a scheduled release date, merely that it will be released.

Personally, I have found 8.1 to be the most stable release yet.

Thanks for your advice sirchet . There are fixes to 8.1 scattered around here (Murlynd's Mods and other locations). Is there a list of all these fixes on this board ?

I never noticed before, but do we not get experience for killing Zuggy? I kept the skull if that makes a difference.

We used to. I have run the encounter the same way and I would have all my characters at level 11 with 65999 experience points. In the past, they would level up. This last time I went through the encounter (with Zuggy calling in 3 of the non-guardian types of the Air node), there was no level up for any people dispatched.

I have redone the combat and this time I got experience. Zuggy only brought in one air node guy (I know the name but can't spell it) and then a bunch of fungi to fight. I am also giving the save before the fight (same used for both) and the one after when no exp was given. In the combat I got exp, I also too the gems from the throne while when I didn't get exp, I didn't take the gems.

Ok, I have a pre-fight save. I can do it without calling in the Balor.

I always keep a convenient list of all of the available hotfix patches at the bottom of post #1 in the Game Guide & Walkthrough sticky thread (see the link below):

LarkinVB, you wouldn't happen to be the (German?) programmer (from developer Viscious Byte) who co-programmed the computer game Titans of Steel: Warring Suns (which, in my opinion, is the best 'Mech computer game ever released to this day!) by any chance?

You did a great job gazra_1971 and I found your list but I also found more fixes at a different location (Murlynd's Mods).

Yes, I'm the german programmer who did Titans of Steel with his friends a long time ago. I have to admit that I still like playing it once in a while. Great that you like it too.

... a game based on the old amiga classic mechforce. First it was a freeware project just because I wanted to play mech combat on PC and I loved the unique time based turn system. In 2002 Matrixgames approached us and wanted to distribute it. In 2008 it went freeware again. I like the tactical combat and the customization of pilots (called jocks) and mechs (called titans). Graphics were already outdated in 2002 and still are :) but I have no problem with them. I even prefer playing on the old 2D iso hexes. The pseudo 3D landscape is ok. The titans are 2D sprites.
