This is actually some interesting information - if crashes are related to heartbeats and such. Can you post a save demonstrating this? (i.e. that crashes when entering the Moathouse with autosave disabled)

Unfortunately (or forutnately) I can't link it to any heartbeat scripting (I have deleted all heartbeat scripts and it still crashes).

I'm guessing it might have something to do with the turned Zombie - did you use flee combat?

Either way, maybe turning on autosave could solve other persistent crash issues. Could be useful - thanks.

No, I didn't flee combat. I didn't realize the zombie was there until I returned once I enabled autosave. I was suprised that combat ended with that zombie still around, albeit out of sight.

    Hey everyone (Hi Gaear!),

I have started a 8.0.1 campaign and I have some questions. I am a neutral good party and get the Verb opening (I love the new story with the screen shots and text and the new clothing items in the starting shop). However, killing the assassin in Verb I noticed that I was able to move after I attacked with my characters. It is like they all had mobility. Is that a bug that is currently known? This is continuing to happen with the kobalds in Welkwood bog. It is a minor issue since I can tell the game to move to the next person, I just find it strange.

Thanks! Super excited to go through this game again after not playing it for years!

In addition, after I saved the game and exited to write the above post, the game will not load anymore. It shuts down during the 'initialize sectors'. Further, initially I could only load the game in the 800*600 mode. It would not work in any other setting. I am thinking I may need to reinstall :(

The modpack used to default to "end turn after default action" you can still set that in the in game options and it will make the game play as you were used to it playing. ;)

The not loading sounds like you may not have your video card set to no scaling, although I'm sure you're well versed in making the game run.

And good to see you back. :)

Thanks very much for info about the option! I think the reason it would not load was that I did not have 'always run this program as administrator' checked for TFE-X.

Now I am just crabby because I didn't know you had to be lawful good to roll a monk. I have a neutral good rogue I wanted to dual class with monk, guess I need to re-roll :( Strange since that one NPC monk can be evil...

In D&D 3.5, the alignment requirement (restriction) for the Monk class "Any Lawful". This is why Turuko is able to be a monk even though he is evil. This computer game's manual states "A monk's training requires strict discipline. Only those who are lawful at heart are capable of undertaking it." But I agree with you that it is silly that monks are allowed to be evil and don't have to always be good considering that goes against every concept of the Shaolin monk.

I am having more monk problems. This is my first time running one so I apologize for the dumb questions. I restarted the game with a lawful good rogue for level 1. I took monk for level 2, and rogue for level 3. Now at level 4 I am unable to take monk and I have a 2/1 rogue monk. Any ideas on why this is occuring? Is it because I put armor on my dual classer at one point? I took off the armor to level up and it did not help. I have a pally to which has not fallen, so I do not think it is an alignment type issue. I am also using dex gloves, which I do not think should be a problem. Any ideas?

Gah, just figured it out. Found the manual online. "Like a member of any other class, a monk may be a multiclass character. However, a monk who gains a new class or, if already multiclass, raises the level
of another class, can never again raise her monk level, although she retains her
    monk abilities."

After dealing with the Hickory Branch, that ranger who sent you there offers you entrance to some officer's club or something, that is located across the street. I can't seem to find it, can someone please tell me how to get to it?

The officer's club is not yet implemented in the modpack.

The search feature located at the top of every page will give you many answers much quicker than waiting for someone to post an answer. ;)

    Noticed a couple more oddities...

    1. Boots of Speed dropped by the level 4 temple commander (or there abouts) stopped showing on the inventory radial menu. Re-identifying them or moving them to another character did nothing. Sold them and bought a new pair from the Verbo wonder shop and now works as expected.

    2. A fighter was charmed during the fire node balor fight (probably by a summoned balor guardian) and remained so until Jaroo was vistited. However, even after spell perm was removed the graphic black and white halo-like effect about the character's head and the walking-through-a-puddle-like effects still remained and remained so for a long period, until the group entered Hickory Branch or so it seemed.

In the fire node, I ran into a problem with the new XP script. One of my crafters (who was two levels behind the rest of the party) received LESS XP than everyone else after killing the Balor. Every other encounter in the node worked properly (i.e. the crafter received more). The crafter was level 9, everyone else was level 11, and the difference was roughly 300 XP.
