Oh, is that how you get her to talk? I usually use a female rogue for my "face", and she's always been brushed off by Alira.

She brushes off poor Chetly Bardiferous, (the bard) every time ... well, there's no accounting for taste, but he has been known to delve into her pockets afterwards though and she didn't even flinch.

Maybe the difference here is that gaeza_1971 had NPC's with him? I generally don't use NPC's with the NC and I've never had Alira become hostile during combat, regardless of my party's alignment. Just a hunch...

Obscuring Mist and Fog Cloud concealment is wrong: it grants 50% and 100% miss chances (for partial and total concealment, respectively), while it should be 20% and 50%.

The fix for this is by hex editing temple.dll:

    Obscuring mist:

Change address C91FC: From 64 to 32 (Total Concealment miss chance)
Change address C920C: From 32 to 14 (Partial Concealment miss chance)

    Fog cloud:

    C7DFC: 64 - > 32
    C7E0C: 32 - > 14

(could've sworn I've submitted this in the past...)

    Some fixes/improvements:

-Bug - Lareth would join the party if you took his diary from the dresser and then talked to him
-Made the Earth Temple guards at the altar attack you if you desecrate the altar or steal from the chests (for the latter, sneaking will prevent the attack, but not the former)
-Made the prison guards that Belsornig asks you to kill not disappear (so you can plant the robes on them)

    Protos altered: 1041, 1042, 1043, 1044 (added san_use script)

Added both the above, thanks. The release notes say that the .dll Obscuring Mist and Fog Cloud fixes were done sometime during v5, and it does look familiar ... not sure what happened there, sorry.

I can't replicate this. Alira stays neutral during this fight. Did you use any AoE spells, gazra?

I see that there are three factions in effect in the Waterside Hostel: the Waterside Hostel faction (Rentsch and Wat and co.) the basic Nulb faction (generic citizens - all should be ambivalent), and the unaffiliated Temple faction, which Alira alone is a member of. It's probably not really necessary for her to be a member of that faction 'officially,' as she never goes anywhere but the hostel anyway so it's not like she's going to jump in on any friend's behalf there. Still, it shouldn't be a problem anyway.

Also, there are no reputations granted upon her death (Butcher of Hommlet, etc.), so nobody should care. The only ones who would care, theoretically, if they were even there, would be other unaffiliated Temple members.

I also tried just going in and killing her (no one cared at the hostel), and then visiting Otis and Calmert. Neither of them cared either.

    Can't reproduce this either.

I think it's pretty clear that the DC bug is not at all universal. We could actually 'fix' this bug and the secret door bug though, if we really wanted to, by simply removing the secret attribute of the doors so that no search was ever carried out on them.

But aren't they supposed to be hidden doors, that if you can't find them you have to take the long and dangerous route instead?

Yep. I'm just saying that we could conceivably get rid of the dreaded secret door bug if we were willing to give that mechanic up.

IMO (and this is strictly MO), secret stuff detection is one of ToEE's less thrilling mechanics. Much like traps. It's either "zOMG, you found a trap! Thrill as you kneel over and disable it!" or "zOMG, you didn't find a trap! Bang!" ;)

I actually like both, so there you go! Just goes to show we're all different, if nothing else.

The following information applies to Co8 Modpack 7.9.0 NC.

00584bethany.dlg has typos (the correct spelling of the words are "exercises" and "privilege"):

    FIXED

    00595krunch.dlg has typos:

    FIXED

    00603donovan.dlg has typos:

    FIXED

00590angra_mainyu.dlg has typos (it should read "its" instead of "it's"):

    FIXED

gamereplog.mes has typos (it should read "its" instead of "it's"):

    FIXED

00477Alchemist.dlg has typos (it should read "That's" instead of "Thats"):

    FIXED

00601knoll.dlg has an apostrophe (of the wrong font type?) that doesn't display in the word "don't" (i.e. the word is displayed in the game as "dont"):

    FIXED

At Hickory Branch, the Orc Murderer's Heavy Saber +2 is already identified.

At Hickory Branch, the Orc Trainer's Spiked Chain +2 is already identified.

Senshock's Chest still has a Potion of Herosim that is worth more than twice the price value of the Potion of Greter Heroism in the same chest.

Simon still sells the Major Rings of <school of arcane magic> for only 2 CP each.

The Alchemist still sells Spore No More, Ooze You Lose, Distilled Alcohol, and Quicksilver for only 2 CP each.

    FIXED

Richard Blade sells a Cauldron for only 2 CP.

Lord Hungous' cave is displayed as 'HOMMLET' when viewing saved games where the player's party is in Lord Hungous' cave.

long_description.mes has an error (it should read "They grant the wearer bonuses of +2 deflection bonus to AC,"):

    FIXED

The Brigand Leader in the Broken Tower outside the Temple of Elemental Evil has a Longsword +1 and a Handaxe in his inventory (see screenshot 01 below). I charmed the Brigand Leader and then had quite a few combats in the Temple of Elemental Evil where the Brigand Leader fought on my side. During one combat, I noticed that the Brigand Leader was wielding the Handaxe instead of his Longsword +1, which prevented him from being able to apply his Power Attack damage because a Handaxe is a light weapon (see screenshot 02 below).

Lydia's items in her inventory are exactly the same as the Elven Maiden's items (i.e. the NPC that you get a random encounter with after rescuing Countess Tillahi from the Temple of Elemental Evil) (see screenshot 03 below). The items are:
    Blue Elven Chain
    Shortsword +1
    Longsword +1
    Green Elven Chain
    Unicorn Ring
    Boots of Elvenkind
    Cloak of Elvenkind
(Lydia is the NPC who runs the Spruce Goose Inn in Verbobonc)

When talking to the player's party, Sergeant Ergo (Ogre Sergeant) says "I am Ergo, lieutenant of the ogres." (see screenshot 04 below). It's a bit confusing that he says that he is a lieutenant when he is labelled as being a sergeant - they are 2 completely different ranks in the army.

    FIXED

Lord Hungous has a Non-conductive Metal Orcish Shield +1 in his inventory (see screenshot 05 below), but he uses an Unholy Orc Double Axe +3 during combat (which is a 2-handed weapon), so he is unable to equip the shield so long as he is wielding the orc double axe.

After Pishella "destroys" the Orb of Golden Death, if Pishella joins or is already in the player's party, then Pishella still has the Orb of Golden Death, Masterwork Maul, scroll of Fireball, and scroll of Gust of Wind in her inventory (i.e. the items don't get destroyed).

Ettins and Ettin Troops sometimes do a full attack making only 2 attacks (using the same weapon) (i.e. the Ettin or Ettin Troop is wielding only 1 weapon). Sometimes, Ettins and Ettin Troops do a full attack making 4 attacks (dual-wielding). The AI Strategy Type for Ettins and Ettin Troops seems to be very inconsistent in whether an Ettin or Ettin Troop wields 1 or 2 clubs.

The Ettin in the middle of the Temple of Elemental Evil dungeon level 3 only wielded 1 weapon and made only 2 attacks when it made a full attack against one of my party's characters.

The following information applies to Co8 Modpack 7.9.0 NC.

In Lord Hungous' cave, there is a small area at the right edge of the cave where any character/monster/critter who stands there becomes invisible (see screenshot 06 below).

When I fought Senshock, Senshock escaped to Verbobonc. In Verbobonc, when my paladin PC talked to Senshock, I had no other option than attacking Senshock, which caused Ariel and Bella to attack my party. Upon killing Senshock and Ariel and Bella, my party acquired the 'Slaughterer of Verbobonc' reputation and my paladins became fallen (see screenshot 07 below). When my party used the world map to travel to Verbobonc, the Guard just to the north of the Verbobonc entry point confronted my party and gave me 2 options, where I chose to surrender, which put my party in jail. My attorney approched my cell and gave me 2 choices - I chose death, where my party was teleported to the execution area outside, but that same Guard that arrested me in the first place interrupted the execution by confronting my party again and giving me 2 options (see screenshot 08 below), where I chose to surrender, which put my party in jail. My attorney approched my cell and gave me 2 choices - I chose death, where my party was teleported to the execution area outside, but this time the execution sequence happened properly. I tested this sequence multiple times, and that same Guard who arrested my party in the first place interrupted the execution the first time EVERY time that I tested the sequence.

At Hickory Branch, I talked to the Orc Lieutenant who then ran away. After defeating Lord Hungous in the cave, when I exited the cave, an Orc Lieutenant spawned in exactly the same spot as my party leader (see screenshot 09 below). The Orc Lieutenant had a green circle around his feet. This meant that there were 2 Lieutenant Ruffs at the start of the combat - one was labelled "Orc Lieutenant", the other (i.e. the "real" Lieutenant Ruff) was labelled "Lieutenant Ruff" who had a red circle around his feet. When it was the Orc Lieutentant's first turn to act in the combat queue, the Orc Lieutenant disappeared from the combat (i.e. he just vanished, and was removed from the combat queue permanently), leaving the real Lieutenant Ruff behind.

At Hickory Branch, during the combat outside the cave against all of Lord Hungous' officers (i.e. Lieutenant and Sergeants), Lieutenant Ruff attacked Sergeant Boonthag (see screenshot 10 below). Lieutenant Ruff only ever attacked Sergeant Boonthag and kept doing so for the duration of the combat.

That first one looks like a character beyond the limit of the firelight, standing in the darkness: 'invisible' except for the glow of the magic weapon. Very cool effect.

Minor issue for me: while testing something with Elmo I had him do his Fruella impersonation. Fruella was in the party but did not react.

ADD: Gazra, were you able to recruit Turuko with a Paladin in the party? That don't sound right...

Just FYI on bugs, if I have time I'll make an effort to fix some of the superficial ones listed here, but by and large these bugs will more likely be addressed further down the road. I was hoping that v8 would be a hyper-bug-fixed version, in addition to the 'everything else' version, but as usual, time got way tighter than anticipated. (Seemed like we had plenty of time to fix bugs 18 months ago, but then I woke up this morning and 18 months had passed. :p) So we'll have to keep updating.

The focus now at this late stage is making v8 the 'presentation' version, complete with movies and slides and bells and whistles and other feel-good stuff.

The following information applies to Co8 Modpack 7.9.0 NC.

Yes, I have 2 paladin PCs in my party, but it was my party leader (a rogue) who actually recruited Turuko. The original PnP module states (on page 16) (referring to Turuko and Kobort):

The original PnP module states (on page 15) (referring to Zert):

The original PnP module states (on page 9) (referring to Rannos Davl and Gremag):

This makes me think that Rannos Davl and Gremag and Raimol would join Zert in the ambush outside the moathouse ruins.

There is an error in the Bonus Detail information in the Rolls History interface. If a target loses their Dexterity bonus due to being helpless, the information states "Dexterity Bonus (bonus lost due to (bonus lost due to)" (see screenshot 11 below).

When my large party appeared on the Temple of Elemental Evil dungeon level 2 map (west of the Water Temple) after using the stairs down on dungeon level 3, one of the characters in my party was stuck behind the door portal, unable to move from his position (because the door portal was blocking his way) (see screenshot 12 below).

One time, when my party appeared in Falrinth's and Smigmal's secret area, the northwestern door portal wasn't there, even though I had used that door portal earlier in the game (see screenshot 13 below). I reloaded my last saved game, and when I appeared in Falrinth's and Smigmal's secret area, the northwestern door portal was now there again.

When my large party appeared in Falrinth's and Smigmal's secret area (after using the southern door portal), 2 of my party's characters actually spawned INSIDE Falrinth's room! (see screenshot 14 below)

In the Gnome Tunnels, I've always had problems with the Fiendish Colossal Monstrous Spider that occupies almost the entire room that the spider is in. Because there is barely enough room to move my party into that room while the spider is there and alive, I can often move my party into that room and the spider won't attack my party on sight (see screenshot 15 below). I've noticed that 1 or more of my characters sometimes get stuck in that room, where I can no longer move my stuck characters. If either any of my characters get stuck or the spider won't attack my party on sight (or both), then I keep reloading my last saved game until the spider does attack my party on sight. The room is too small for that spider - the small size of the room is causing problems with this encounter.
