I succeeded. Now to transfer them to a flash drive so I don't lose them again...hopefully. The problem is when you copy/paste from Co8 the letters are very faint, even bolding them once pasted doesn't help. So I will need to retype them, and that''s a task for next week, not today.

I wonder if the color scheme you have chosen for viewing this site may effect the darkness of the copied print.

In the lower left corner of the page there is a drop down menu, you could try viewing with a different scheme and copying the text and then examine the results when you paste it in Word or whatever program you're using.

Retyping is also a good excuse to reediting into publishable form. ;)

    Denial

    I hear the drums beating

    far away

    dark throbbing

    I barely hear them

I turn aside, to other things

    I feel the drums beating

    deep inside

    hammer strokes

    I know I feel them

    I lose myself, in trivia

    I hear the flute wailing

    high and thin

    blood red notes

    I clearly hear it

I will not listen, not today

    I feel the flute wailing

    in my bones

    sharp and bright

    I can feel it

I can not hide or run away

    And now the trumpet blares

    all around

    and I am afraid

Makes me think of a friend’s inner turmoil while she battles cancer. If you don’t mind I think I’ll share this with her.

You certainly have a gift for prose - there's a lot of meaning packed in there Ms. Scryler.

For those of you who like to bury themselves in a fantasy world, may I recommend Robin Hobb's books set in the medieval world of the 6 Duchies. She has written 15 or 16 (maybe 17) books, mainly in trilogies. Unlike many others today, her books are not short books, they are long and do not rely on needless description to make their length. Three of the trilogies follow 2 main characters through their entwined lives (and the events associated with their lives); the other books are linked to the 6 Duchies world, but aren't tied in closely to the 2 main characters. Imo, The Farseer Trilogy, The Tawny Man Trilogy and The Fitz and The Fool Trilogy are complete in themselves and perhaps the best of the books in the series. While there are fights and conflicts and a strong plot, character development is (again imo) the main element of her writing. I think she is the best fantasy writer I've ever read, aside from maybe Tokien. Martin has a more complicated plot line in his Song of Ice and Fire books and perhaps comes close to Hobb's character development, but hey, her lengthy series is finished. It is not a D&D type book, but I think would appeal to some of those who frequent this site.

This is so frustrating. New computer. Lost all the verses I had tediously copied. Starting over. Again.

    Greetings, Your Majesty!

Windows 10 updates routinely screw up compatibility with some installed program or other. :(
