Just finished a CN smashmouth run, 6 pc's & elmo. Finished @ 14th Lvl. Three humans: rogue, sorcerer and fighter #2. Three 1/2 Orcs: cleric and fighters 1 & 3. ( yes, I've always had a soft spot for 1/2 Orcs) I have no memory of where I picked it up, but the cloak of charisma is one of the coolest items anyone has thought up in a looong time. While approaching the endgame I was thinking that the next run would either be a LE 4pc or a LG 3pc game. I enjoying alternating party size and alignment between games. While reading Gazra's thread I noticed an item new to me. Item # 4999 Paladin Holy Sword Intrigued I looked about to see what I could find. So, a pally has gained his Holy Sword, At what lvl is this ability gained? Is it a temporary effect (ie: once a day), or once gained is it permanent? (Not interested in consoleing, thankyou.) God Bless and goodnight.
Ah well, guess it just leaves crafting. Went and checked the SRD, what we called the paladins holy sword is now called a Holy Avenger. Similar effects to what I remember from 1st Ed. Had a closer look at the sword in Gazra's thread, looks to be a bit overpowered, though not too outrageous.
There is the Holy longsword you can get fairly early in the game from Melany's dad, the extra holy damage comes in real handy in the early game. It can be crafted to better stats later. I like to give it to my elven rogue early on for holy sneak attack damage!
Would it be possible to add a "Holy Avenger Quest"? I know that there was a thread asking what we would like to see now that 6.0 is out... I personally think that it would make sense, especially given that it is the "Temple of Elemental EVIL" Just my .02
:love::love: OK, I thought there was something I missed and here it is. In the downloads section, game modifications: Co8 modpack explained (Gaears thread.. Near the bottom, Page/response #6) Co8 line item new content - Spells Paladin Lvl 4 Holy Sword--- +5 Holy, also creates a circle of protection vs evil ( not cumulative with bless etc... overrides weapons normal magic.. if any) The question is obvious. At what level do Paladins gain 4th level spells? Gaear, you may have just become my second favorite modder, and I will not say who is #1. oke:
I didn't make the Holy Sword spell (or any other spell for that matter), but thanks anyway. According to the 3.5 SRD, Paladins get 4th level spells at 15th level.
