I seem to be having some issues here. I have windows Vista 2007.

First I downloaded the game from GOG.
Next, I downloaded patches 1 and 2 but not 3.

Then I downloaded and installed 6.0 NC. I made sure to save it in the right place.

    C:\Program Files\GOG.com\ToEE
Once it is downloaded, i double click on 2010_12_28_Circle_of_Eight_Modpack_6.0.0_NC_Setup

    Here are the instal settings

    Destination location:
C:\Program Files\GOG.com\Temple of Elemental Evil\Temple of Elemental Evil

    Additional tasks:
    Additional icons:
    Create a desktop icon
    Create a Quick Launch icon
After a minute I get the message

Setup has finished installing the CO8 modpack. The app may be launched by selecting the icons
I click finish and i get the error message.

Startup error you must run ToEEFE from the root folder.
It asks if i have patch 2 istalled, which i think i do.

But when I left click on patch 2(TOEE_USA_ANY-PATCH2) located in :\Program Files\GOG.com\Temple of Elemental Evil i get the following Patch error message
"cannot loacate ToEE, ANY, on your computer.

The same thing happens with patch one, BTW.

    A couple of thoughts:

    1. Do I need to download ToEEFE seperately from someplace?

    2. Do I need(and how can I) change the priveledge settings for these patches? I mean do I actually have to do something with the patches or just save them in the folder?

3, Is it something completely different?

    4. Should I do a complete reinstal?

    Please help!!!!

    Thanks

If you downloaded the game from GOG. I don't believe you have to use the two patches. I also downloaded the game from GOG and I did not use any of the patches. I also used the TOEE Front end X to set it up and it works great for me except talking to the cleric next to Terjon. For some reason when you have a Cleric with you that is a follower of St. Cuthbert and click the line about may St. Cuthbert watch over you or something to that effect. It crashes the game to desk top. Other than that it is freaking awesome to finally get to play this game that I orifinally tried playing when TOEE first came out.

GoG ToEE comes fully patched, so you don't have to worry about that.

Your problem is with the installation location.

You've got one too many 'Temple of Elemental Evil's on there, so it's installing to an empty directory, which is why TFE-X is telling you you need to launch from the root directory.

All you need to do is run the installer again, and when you get to the point where it asks where to install to, make sure the location is

    Code:
    C:\Program Files\GOG.com\Temple of Elemental Evil
If you have to delete the second Temple of Elemental Evil by hand in the destination box, go ahead and do that. Should work fine after that. :)

Just wanted to say "Thank You, Gaear"!!

It would have taken me forever to figure out what the problem was.

But I did what you said and now I am up and playing my favorite CRPG ever, fully-patched, with all of the NC and it only cost me $5.99!!

Thank you, thank you, thank you!!
