    I thought I figured it out but have unpacked the DAT file.
    The tree problem I am having is that nothing in WorldBuilder.Net lets you
    see the actual object or save it. I can see a list of all of the objects on
    a map and I can even get their coordinates. But the tool doesn't display the
    object and it doesn't export it out as a graphic for me to use. If there is
    some way to export the tree or any other object as a JPG or BMP file, that
    would be great. Even better a way to use the animation. Can anyone help?

    I think you need to do a screenshot... I see no other way
    to do it. Why don't you use BG's trees? BG1 had many forests...

    LeahnKain, if you don't mind an elaborate workaround...

    Find a nice big map, like Hommlet.

    Open its art files, at

    ToEE\art\ground\Map-2-Hommlet-Exterior

    (where this is the ToEE .dat unpacked, not your normal game).

    Now look at them and find some open spaces (like north of the contruction site) and paint them black in Photoshop or whatever, then put it into the game in

    modules\co8 5.0.0\art\ground\Map-2-Hommlet-Exterior

    Now when you go to Hommlet you can run around on a big black backdrop. (Just delete this folder when you are done to get your game back, btw).

    Now, to create trees: move your party leader onto the big black space and in the console type

    create ####

    where those numbers are from description.mes (in the 2000s) and a tree will appear right where your game leader is standing.

    Move him out of the way, and take your screenshots :)

    Some suggested numbers:

    {2001}{Tree}
    {2007}{Swamp Tree}
    {2008}{Medium Swamp Tree}
    {2009}{Small SwampTree}
    {2010}{Bush}
    {2017}{Oak Tree}
    {2023}{Fern}
    {2024}{Bush2}
    {2025}{SmallTree1}

    Well I'm not too sure how scenery objects in BG1 work, but I know that if you need maps for ToEE, you can use ToEE's maps, and reassemble the .jpg pieces with ToEEWB which you can then adapt for BG1 from there.

    as for getting the animated trees? no idea. Perhaps Like Ted says, put a few trees onto a black map at different rotations (for variety) and recording the image (I'm sure some programs can do that - like a video screen shot) and I'm not sure if you can turn it into a .gif using the video one frame at a time?

    BG's trees lack animation. They are like a building on a ToEE map. They are already drawn on the map. Thank you for the above advice. I wish I could get the animations but I guess the old fashioned screen shots will do fine. I never thought of the black screen. very creative. Thank you ShiningTed. I am looking forward to playing KotB. I hope if you all have a chance you will try CA.

    You can always do moment-by-moment screenshots, convert them to bmps, and use your animator tool you mentioned.

    Hope it works! :wave:
