Any chance you Most Excellent of Dudes would ever attempt to make an adaption of the Modules G1-3, Against the Giants? That series was the spiritual successor to Temple in my mind. Wow, that would be cool!

I have never played that module personally, but there has been repeated calls to recreate it (among others) for ToEE, unfortunately the same stumbling block always crops up at this very moment; We would first need good quality maps from which we can work on. until that happens, it's only a pipe dream.

I'm unsure if you are aware of the arduous process the KotB module underwent to create the maps used within it? It is a credit to the artists who contributed to it that we have that module available, which is still (if I'm not mistaken) unfinished 10 years after it was first conceived.

Which is why instead, we are working on a total conversion of Icewind Dale. The maps are already of good quality, and are (with a little work) able to be imported into ToEE with few issues.

If you fancy yourself as a 3d artist, and can recreate the maps from the module in digital form (perhaps using another RPG game with world building tools? Elder Scrolls or NWN 2 perhaps?) which can be converted into a 45 degree angled 2 dimensional isometric view and exported into a usable format, then we can help make the dream a reality.

Steading of the Hill Giant Chief is very doable except for the cooperative combat elements of the 'release the Orc prisoners underneath and fight along side them' plot line. Otherwise it's just hill giants and a bear.

The beginning fights in the taverns would be fun to try to make happen.

Wow...i could understand the beginning of this reply, but it turned into a foreign language at the end! Suffice to say, i cannot help with the maps. I am the kind of guy who sits back, and expects the experts to hand me what I want, without having any idea as to the effort!

I really wish I could contribute, but I am so far back on the learning curve, that it would take multiple lifetimes to catch up. I will just continue to ask for things without understanding the cost! :)

With that being said, I now have so much more appreciation of what you guys have done for the CRPG community with TOEE, TOEE+ and KOTB!! Kudos!

No idea, but since the Dungeon Siege collection is on sale for £3.74 on sale on Steam at the moment, I guess I'll find out tomorrow.

I do have Neverwinter Nights 2, and Eldar Scrolls III: Morrowind - both of which have world ed tools for making 3d areas, as for how to convert those areas into 2d isometric drawings, I have no idea, but apparently that is how these games are made, so there has to be a way.

You need a proper 3d thing like 3ds Max because otherwise you get the whole perspective problem.

Or an isometric game generator like Krunch used for the first Hickory Branch, hopefully a better one of course.

EDIT: RTS games like Command & Conquer use an isometric view (the meaning of that word varies, of course) and often come with map editors. Again, a newer higher quality one is better than something that looks 16-bit.

I'm not sure if Blender has that option, but it's free, and if it does would be awesome.

For what it's worth, I'm one of the dudes that at one point would've loved to see G1-G3 adapted, but my programming skills are rusty and my art skills are nonexistent. That said, my writing skills are honed, so if anyone ever attempts this and needs some writing contributed, feel free to hit me up :)

The Icewind Dale total conversion is at the top of the list currently, once that is done to a good quality, and when we get some quality maps made up for other modules, I'm more than happy to lend a hand making it happen.

I'm so far behind I've never even installed the Keep on the Borderlands enhancement yet. I have to get on that.

I've already started planning for a proper high-level endgame to ToEE. Further details TBA.

The keep on the Borderland would be a fitting start to the giants module;)
