Aaand I just learned about hotkeys in general from reading this thread (never did read the manual since I know 3.5 and the interface is intuitive enough). That's going to save some sanity on my next playthrough.

I will add that you can use bucklers with ranged weapons (including bows/crossbows) without penalty, though there is small amount of spell failure on those.

.... Use the Extraplanar Chest to completely block hallways or doorways, preventing anything but missle fire (with -4 Cover penalty); or creating a bottle neck where large groups of enemies can be fought one at a time -- especially useful for a solo character (or against a certain Dire Minataur). It sometimes takes a little practice sneaking and maneuvering to get the Chest to land in a good spot, but it seems the rules governing where it appears are not as random as one might imagine.

    That is pure GENIOUS!

A portable barricade that also holds your loot.

It's like an armored vehicle in that it partially blocks incoming fire and is mobile. It's like a barricade in that it hinders access to the area and allows some outgoing fire. And it may be not an exploit as it is essentially a chest materialized out of thin air.

Can it be moved during combat mode?

I recently re-learned the value of full attack + quick draw; I love the ability to strike someone dead, 5 foot step and hit someone else, then draw a bow or spear and shoot another, all in the same round.

    Extraplanar Chest --
Yes, it is a full action move to call/banish the Chest during combat. It usually appears in an open space, but it can appear on top of dead foes. There is a risk of causing the game to crash, however, if in very narrow areas the Chest appears on top of someone -- whether ally or foe; the game goes into super slo-mo and usually crashes in the next turn, even if it is subsequently banished. So be careful.
I got the idea to try it in ToEE because there is a similar chest in the module which had command words to cause it to shrink to 1/12th size, or enlarge to 6x size ... or something like that. We used the enlarged version in the nodes as a barricade to a nook or corner when trying to rest ...

The experienced players might know this already but I'll post this anyway.

During my latest battle with Zuggy, I got frustrated that in the middle of the fight she cast an illusion spell (was it Blur or Obscuring Mist?) that caused my fighters and my summons to miss their attacks most of the time, you know "Concealment Check: Fail".

So I moved my wizard, who had cast Lesser Globe of Invulnerability earlier, just about 5-feet from Zuggy. She lost her concealment and Otis and Elmo could finally finish her off quickly. She didn't even bother attacking my wizard, or even any of my fighters, cause she was too busy tripping a Dire Snake! She kept doing that even though it said that "Target cannot be tripped!" Ha!

The spell she casts is Displacement. Also yeah, Zuggtmoy's AI is silly.

    "Casts Entangle!"

    "No plants to entangle with!"

I just discovered that you can sicken Iuz with stinking cloud and he's a pushover after that. Well, the battle didn't last long enough for me to kill him as Cuthbert appeared after a while, but it prevented him from decimating my crew.

Does it let you combine that with rapid shot to get another attack? I know that specifically worked in P&P, though that certainly wouldn't be the first thing that ToEE doesn't do (LOOKING AT YOU TWF NOT WORKING WITH UNARMED >:| )
