*sheepishly returns and pulls GA out. Reluctantly returns GA his bottle, after taking a few extra nips. Damn kilt*

GA feels the gust of wind as the empty bottle is snatched away and wonders if a full bottle will be set in it's place. This gives him motivation to try to extricate himself, especially since there is a motherless calf loitering nearby.

The Queen closes her eyes and claps her hands to her ears.

Whispers under her breath, "Dear me...doth he not know he is already rescued? Or...horrors...perchance he was looking forward to such um depravity. The kingdom is sinking to previously unknown depths." Stridently she shrieks aloud, " Beware foolish one! Beware the Moderators always hovering nearby!!"

I hope you had a good day and the night has been going well.

Realizing he was not upside down but merely intoxicated, GA deftly dodges the attacks of the Moderators, Matrix style (or stumbles drunkenly, if you will), and scampers away to the crushing embrace of his green love.

    Words

    You said you were sorry,
offered it to me so easily
sitting on a simple silver tray
    no flourishes or fancy words.

    I lifted what you said
held it, felt its weight, let it fall
    back on the plate.

    I thought of Salome's head,
also offered on a tray. Wondered
    how much it weighed.

Ah, but then I do forget.
I am not a king nor a pharaoh,
    decked out in holy robes,
sitting on a throne, a crown on my head.

    Just a common everyday person
sitting here in an ordinary chair
    looking at some words.

I hope you had a good day and the night went well.

The birds are starting to migrate. A huge flock of blackbirds landed on my lawn today. And the neighbor's lawns on all sides. Heading south I guess. I don't know if they were blackbirds, but they were the right size and color.

I expect the robins will be next.

The cats got me up at 4am. They seem to think I take naps all the time just like they do instead of sleeping for longer periods.

The moon will be full tomorrow.

To all who sleep tonight on this side of the soon to be bright earth,

    The Nightly Mission:

    Review your resources
    before you go to sleep,
there are more than you think.

    When you wake up,
set about using some of them.

    May the Lady smile
    on me and you too.

    G'Night.

I hope you had a good day and the night goes well.

The full moon is either tonight or tomorrow, again depending on what calendar you use.

Whichever, the phone has been ringing off the hook and all the crazies are calling. Guess they need to call somewhere.

I saw a big raccoon climb into our dumpster. I didn't know they could get that big. I mean really big. And w/o its winter coat. Wow.

I like to frequent the Weather Underground for hurricane and other info. Dr. Jeff Masters writes a blog on that site. Interesting man, used to be one of the hurricane hunters. According to the information he has in his blog right now, the world has experienced the hottest temps ever in history during the last 6 months.

To all who will sleep tonight on this side of the bright earth,

    The Nightly Mission:

Stay cool but warm enough to sleep.
Wake up and get that coffee.

    May the Lady smile
    on me and you too.

    G'Night.

Uh...the Weather Underground, aka the Weathermen, was a violent '70's anarchist group, that grew out of the S.D.S. (New Left) that set off several bombs and published a lot of incoherent garbage raging against no particular target, then broke up a few years later.

Did some xxxxx really name his web site after them? Surely that's a mistake.

Don't think he was thinking about them. Who knows though? The short cut for the site is Wunderground.

I don't think there are any other Weather Undergrounds he could be referencing.

I think all there is to it GA82, is a reference to being an alternative weather site. imo weather buffs, (true weather buffs such as tornado chasers and perhaps hurricane hunters) tend to perceive themselves as renegades, or maybe that's just a generalized perception on my part due to the risks they take.

There are numerous blogs on the site by both amateur and professional weather forecasters and although I haven't read most of them, the ones I have read have never contained content that I'd consider subversive or even come close. They are just weather nuts. Informed weather nuts, sometimes argumentative weather nuts, although the discussions are generally much more civilized than in a lot of blog sites.

Regardless, its one of the best weather info sources I've seen.

In much less controversial terms, I think

is something we can all agree on.
