I just did that with no problems. Ditto reactivate the module ... something's not right.

No, that shouldn't be possible because TFE-X doesn't operate that way. Nothing gets overwritten in the ToEE directory when a TFE-X module is activated. Each one is separate and distinct, and when one is deactivated in favor of another, you start with a clean slate. Things are just moved around.

    Hello,

I am currently in the beginning stages of a 5.8.0 games(finished WB (Great Mod) and just got the giant's head. I wanted to upgrade to 5.8.1 - will I lose my saved games?

    Thanks,
    Chiech

    Hi Chiech.

You won't lose your saves if you switch modules, but you can't carry them over from one module to another. So, either continue with your current saves with 5.8.0, or start a new game with 5.8.1.

Just finished 5.8.1 new content for the first time. I think the thing I actually like most about it is the Allrem fight. It is my firm belief that the whole temple should be overrun with werewolves everywhere. Just replace all the green races and humans with werewolves because you know that if there was even one werewolf in the temple anywhere, it would go around !@#$%^& with all the other less powerful creatures, like bugbears and orcs and humans and goblins and kobolds and anything else it thinks it could harass safely.

Was a great modpack. Can't wait until WoGS is added.

    A hill giant werewolf? :poke:

Thanks Gaear, I did as you suggested.

Now I seem to get the random crashes more than I used to. I went from one a week to one almost every time I play, maybe it has something to do with when I've had the game running for .... well, lets just say much longer than a man with a life should. :twitch:

Yes he took his cowardly butt and hid. Because ... cause, he was scared of me! Yeah! When my big Level 1 Hard hitt'n Pally shows up on the scene they ALL run!

OK, OK, maybe they just run to loot his corpse. heh heh

I got a bug, but it hasn't just appeared in this modpack. It's been a bug since the game came out. I've encountered it many times over the last few years.

If you happen to have a stack of scrolls of the clerical Heal spell, THE Heal spell, not the curing ones, and you use one, it removes the whole freaking stack instead of just one scroll. I hardly ever use those scrolls at all but I just happened to use one today and it happened again. I've never mentioned it before because I never remembered it. And it don't happen with any other scrolls neither that I've seen, just the Heal spell.

    *edit*
Actually, you know what? I'm pretty sure that it's happened to me with the 2 extraplanar chest scrolls too. I used a scroll and it took them both, leaving me nothing to learn. Should've learned it first and then scroll casted it.

Yep, that's an old one. I just keep the scrolls on different characters, or now, in the extraplanar chest.

Back to give more countless hours to this game. I was very pleased when my newest copy (I've now purchased this game 4 times) arrived and I saw that we've had 8 new releases since my last game 5.0 :-D

    Currently DL'ing the 5.8.1NC.

Do you guys recommend starting with 5.8 or 5.8.1?

I've never been able to play ToEE on higher graphics settings, was using an HP desktop that was a year old when it released.

The new computer should handle it fine

I think I've found a bug, although I haven't read though everything to see if this is a known one...

I apologize in advance if I'm wasting your time with trivialities that have already been discussed without my knowledge.

I was on the dungeon level 2 of the Temple of Elemental Evil, buffing up to take care of a group of Greater Temple bugbears, when I suspect the bug occured. It wasn't till mid-combat, while I was mopping up bugbears that my wizard didn't kill with fireballs, that I noticed my cleric was doing extreme damage on normal attacks (200+ damage) after charging at the enemy.

I'm pretty sure this is due to my cleric (named Justine) having enchanted her weapon with "Greater Magic Weapon". She also has the buffs "Heroism", "Shield of Faith", "Barkskin", and Mage Armor", although I wouldn't expect those to have any effect on the outrageous attack bonus you see below (screenshot).

I'll see if it happens on some other characters too.

PS - This was using the 5.8.1 NC BETA mod which I downloaded and started playing sometime last week.

Yeah, there is a known bug with casting Magic Weapon or Greater Magic Weapon on the Staff of Striking. I kinda thought it had been fixed, but apparently not.

You should see what happens when you cast Magic Stone on a hill giant's boulder. It does 400+ damage as an area affect to EVERYONE!
