I have had computer problems for the last month and decided to reformat my computer yesterday. I backup my documents folder, my desktop icons, and my drivers. However I started using outlook the last couple of months and forgot it downloads the emails from the server, and I forgot to save those (I am so used to Gmail). Does anyone know a way to get those back from a reformatted drive?
I don't know how to do that but I know you can hire professionals to do data recovery but it's major league hugely monstrously expensive and I ain't exaggerating. However, you might be able to do it yourself with freeware/trial software. The following link is for Mac, Linux and Windows, but they don't have it for Windows 7 yet. You reformatted because adobe flash hosed you, didn't it? REFORMATS FOR EVERYONE, COURTESY OF ADOBE!! We should start an online petition. All visitors to Co8 can sign and after we get 50 million signatures, we can force Adobe out of business! Isn't this an anti-trust issue anyways? What other flash software is out there to compete? I've looked before and couldn't find a single one.
Adobe acquired all the rights to Flash from Macromedia years ago..., which basically does not exist anymore. So basically, it is a monopoly on the format... any further development of the Flash medium and file types has been supported by solely Adobe tech and development teams. Flash is used in most web browsers, web development, Flash file executables built in the Flash architecture environment (using code like ActionScript, and AIR specifically developed as dynamic languages and environments for Flash) ... so there is not really much 3rd party involvement anymore. Alot of smaller fringe players try to create flash players to be able to play FLV or SWF, the 2 Flash video types ... but now that Flash also uses h264 codec in a hybrid type of MP4 video format, they are all using the same technology to operate, play video, etc. ... Adobe is the only true "innovator" and YEAH it sucks when a new release comes out and causes stuff to not work properly. What kind of testing are they doing ...!!!
Adobe seem to be trying to get all their software to do things not in the core use and as clumbsy workarounds, rather than working on the programs strengths. Their support is laughable. it consists of forums where the people who bought the software for productivity spend all their time working out how to make it run properly. Like Apple they have gotten too big and have turned to the darkside.
You might try putting windows in safemode and do a system restore to a time before your changes. No guarantee but it's suppose to work.
