Used the crockpot yesterday. Made 2 pork roasts, with potatoes, baby carrots, pearl onions, 4 cans of vegetable barley soup and a half a cup of cajun seasoning. For house cooking, a crockpot is a must. The one I used was a 5 quart crockpot. I want to try getting one of them big crockpots and doing a turkey in it.
He-he-he guys, now I will spoil your fine meat-cooking thread! So, I am currently in exile in Genoa, Italy (because I talked too much, my chief sent me there for two months in hope I'll get more obedient, but only two weeks are left now, and no attitude change so far.) And do you think I am cooking pizza, spaghetti, farinata and focaccio here? No way! It is marinated CABBAGE for everybody!
Oh, my gosh! It's worse than Siberia! :yikes: Having to look at all those luscious Italian women in bikinis on the beach and NO BORSCHT!
And some of those Italian women do not even WEAR bikini on the beach! :twitch: Well, the real reason to call this fine assignment an "exile" is because my favourite part of work is taking examinations and giving students bad marks . And being in Italy now I am out of fun (for this term's examinations.) And Genoa is a nice place. Friendly people and all that. But no normal soup, that is true. And who would object that? I am happy!
I've tried very hard to resist asking this but I have no self control...do italian women shave their body hair or just let it grow wild, like Madonna?
Well, they do not wear only UPPER part of the outfit on the beach. So I can not give any insight on the matter of ALL body hair. Maybe I should consult my colleagues, who visited nudist & hippie beach... [EDIT] Yes, Italian women shave their body hair. Most of them do. And yes, they are "luscious", even if in a different way than Russian women. :chick:
Why is there a spoon in the alcohol? Does it traditionally go with a nice big plate of marinated cabbage? *EDIT* Nevermind, I think I figured it out. It must be tea and not alcohol.
Ya, the color of the drink threw me. It looked like whiskey or bourbon or some other kind of dark liquor. I didn't think of tea because I've never known anyone who drinks it. I should've remembered that they were in Italy, where they only have wine for alcohol and it would've came to me quicker.
They also almost do not drink tea. You can not even buy a kettle in a shop. So I had to boil water in a cooking pot...
I am going to try something a little non-standard tomorrow. I have to go to Sam's and pick up some lamb. I want to try making some lamb stroganoff with some nice pearl onions and mushrooms. *edit* I also found out about a place today that sells squab. I don't know about that though. I consider myself willing to try just about any meat but pigeon meat might be a little too weird for me.
