Is there a way to edit the character classes in the character creation screen? What about adding a new class altogether? I'm not much of a modder, but I'd be willing to give it a shot if it could be done with some work and luck. A nudge (link to thread) in the right direction would be appreciated. And, as always, great job on all the work so far.
It may be just me, but this sounds incredibly difficult and time consuming. I wish you all the luck in the world and if it's actually pretty easy, maybe I can get into it too... unless it requires some knowledge of programming language.
Hey Obadiah, welcome back  Damn we've had a lot of returnees lately Unfortunately, new classes are one of those things we can only pine for. Bradrinwi tried long and hard to get a new class going (complete with .dll hacking), finally went mad and disappeared. Beware if you start down the same path.
You need a hex editor like UltraEdit32 or TotalEdit. Very confusing and difficult to use. Temple.dll is a big, complex file. Things hardcoded in the game engine can't be changed and I believe class is one of them.
Thanks for the hearty welcome! I've been around the whole time, I just don't post much. To think I wasted all that time ranting on the Atari forums when I could have found compatriots here. Well, that's water under the bridge now. So, it sounds like the class editing is a no go. No worries. Still enjoying the game and looking forward to the next expansion with the new content. Cant' wait. Keep up the good work and thanks!
First you have to go live in the mountains for a year to become socially isolated, then you become addicted tp prescription pain killers, and then you may start hacking the .dll whenever you're not looking out for the feds whom you believe are searching for you. Whether or not you succeed at hacking the .dll, you do go mad at the end and never reappear.
