I keep thinking it needs a melody and a good voice.

Thank you. IMO, my best verses begin with an image kicking around in my head, generally for a few days, and then the words just float onto the screen, very fluid, very fast. That's how this one came.

Been interesting to hear what people see in it.

As always, in what I write, it has more than one layer, and some people see the top one, others see something else. I don't usually see the underlying layers until I go back and reread it.

I am not sure that I would know how to write a song. But then, I don't really know how to write poetry, either. That's why I call them verses.

I hope you had a good day and the night is going well.

I had a good day today.

Last night, at the gas station where I normally get gas, there were 8 cop cars gassing up. They were all visiting with each other. I was surprised to hear all the swear words. I don't really know why.

Anyway, on my home on the back highway, I had quite an escort. I was right in the middle of them on a 1one hwy with most of it no passing.

They all turned off about halfway to the little town where I live.

I was glad they did... made me nervous.

To all who sleep tonight on this side of the earth,

    The Nightly Mission:

Spend a couple of hours laughing
with people who care about you,
and you will definitely sleep better.

    And wake up smiling.

    May the Lady smile
    on you and me too.

    G'Night.

I hope you had a good day and the rest of the night goes well.

I saw a lonely love bug the other day. It's about time they started coming out. At work, we were laughing about starting an activist group against the public display of amorousness by the love bugs. I once had an entire wall of a little cottage I lived in, an outer wall, covered with lovebugs, doing their um thing. Shocking.

I wonder when the fireflies come out? Anyone know? I love watching them twinkle. The lovebugs should take a hint from the fireflies. Come out at night and twinkle. Heh.

Enough of the semi erotic insect life. How this thread has degenerated. Tsk tsk.

    Warm outside tonight.

To all who will sleep tonight on this side of the earth,

    The Nightly Mission:

Cool air from an open window
    (open safely of course) and
    warm blankets, a good
    prescription for sleep.

And wake up with Spring in
    the air, in your room.

    May the Lady smile
    on you and me too.

    G'Night.

    Sleep safe
    Wake up in the morning.

This one I like, a lot! Not too heavy but with enough meaning to get to you and make you think/feel.

    Well done, O Queen!

I hope you had a good day and the night has gone well.

And I hope Easter (or Beaster, whichever you had or did) was meaningful
    (or fun).

Warm again tonight, could have worn shorts today if I wanted to.

To all who sleep tonight on this side of the earth,

    The Nightly (abbreviated) Mission:

    Sleep
    Dream
    Wake up the next morning.

I hope you had a good day and the night goes well.

A bright eyed squirrel was busy robbing the bird feeder this
morning, the birds complaining from the loquat tree and the
    dogwood.

The dogwood is starting to bloom. My favorite tree. And
so are the azaleas. White and scarlet and green.

You'd think it was the full moon this evening. Crazy busy at
work. Phone ringing, all kinds of noise, commotion. I was glad
when I walked out of the door into the quiet night, leaving it all
    behind.

    Lots of mosquitoes, already.

To all who sleep tonight on this side of the earth,

    The Nightly Mission:

    Sleep warm and close,
    with sweet dreams
    and safe travel through
    the aether.

    Wake up and find joy
    in the day.

    May the Lady smile
    on you and me too.

    G'Night.
