There was no such thing as a pc, not even a calculator when I was younger. Transistors where a new thing then. Everything was vaccum tubes and only the government, military, and big corps had computers. There was no NASA or space program and most people couldn't afford a color tv. The only Aussie I knew was a gunners mate on the destroyer Hobart. All he wanted to do was drink beer and talk about guns. Good guy. He liked the Filipino girls, tho.
I also heard that their water system is messed up. When they flush the toilet, their water spins and drains going counter-clockwise. I heard it was because of the equator and different gravitational pull. WTF?! That and they have 200 different kinds of deadly poisonous spiders that live everywhere in the cities for every 1 person. I saw it on TV! Spiders as big as your hand just everywhere! I still think that these things would be the lesser of two evils compared to living stateside. oke:
It's the Coriolis effect. Something further from the equator is going slightly slower to the east as the planet rotates than something closer to the equator. Gosh, we have only about a dozen kinds of poisonous spiders. All 4 of the poisonous snakes found in the US are found in Texas. Scorpions. Asps (not the snake). Oh, and I live here, too. (Deadly Boring)
