Rannos & Gremag Revenge + Assassin?

    As you can see in data\rules\gamerep.mes :

    Code:
    {1}{0 0 0, -89 9} //Butcher of Hommlet
    The first three 0's mean the rep doesn't grant you faction membership to anything.

    The -89 9 part means your reputation with the Hommlet faction is lowered by 89 (this means KOS for most Hommletans).

    As you can see, there are no other reputation modifiers, let alone positive ones.

    In short, NO.

    (and in case you're wondering, lowering reputation with one faction has no bearing for your standing with other factions in ToEE)

    But if you look at the reputations tab, if you help Jaroo out you get an entry that says the people of St. Cuthbert think you're chicken snot and don't trust you, and if you help out Terjon, it says the people of the old faith think you're dog water and don't trust you. Maybe not in those exact words but something similar to them. Maybe they just cancel each other out?

    In theory: but what are those modifiers? 5? 10? 20? Take 20 steps forward and 89 steps backwards & see where you end up ;) The only one that would really stop it is getting knighted: this adds +40. Since the default position is 50, and <=0 means KOS, then getting knighted then butchering people means a reputation of 1 in the eyes of the ordinary peasants (they despise you as much as they can without attacking) and if anyone has a preexistant grudge - you annoyed Black Jay (keeping the wife's ring), or Sunom (flirting with Monier) or all Jaroovians or all Terjonesques, they will attack you.

    Everything Sitra said is quite correct but I will add that while you can also check for a reputation directly (pc.reputation_has(1) or something) I don't know of anywhere that checks for this one. But it could be added to Gremag or Rannos if anyone thought it worth the effort.

    Lareth & Co have their own faction, right? Are R+G in with them? Wouldn't they be pleased to meet the Butcher of Hommlet?
