In protos an NPC may have 1 to 3 classes. Are they listed in chronological order? I.e. did the NPC acquire class 1 first, followed by class 2 and class 3? Thanks. -Mike
I think class 1 is the primary and the others are add-ons. Say you want to add cleric to Elmo, then he needs domain and skills, feats, spells common to clerics. Look at Terjon's entry and see how it's set up.
If memory serves, I believe you guys got it backwards. Class 3 is the original class and then 2 was added and then 1 was added (I remember it being counter-intuitive). You can test this by manipulating a fighter/thief and see how it handles the cross-classing of the skill points.
Like with Terjon, his original class was cleric in the class 1 slot. The paladin and fighter in class 2 and 3 were added later. How can class 3 be the primary original? All single class people are in class 1 and the character screen doesn't say what class they are. How did Terjon get to be a 10th level cleric, 3rd level paladin and 7th level fighter? Hell, a large major city doesn't have clerics that powerful. 263HP?
Perhaps some testing is in order? Thats what the Wand of Enslavement is for - nabbing NPCs and checking their stats for just such moments.
