Head slowly clearing. The vice releases. A better day today, actually had some great (evil) laughs with one of my defense attorneys. Never a good idea to have an insured of yours in front of a jury who's accused of running a stop sign and admits he's partially blind in one eye. :twitch: "So, Mr. Smith, did you see the other car coming or the stop sign?" "What car? What stop sign? Who's speaking?" The weather warms considerably for the end of the week and the weekend and I'm itching to be OUT! Will see what the weekend brings. N's with his Mom so J and I have a free "grown up" weekend.
Good Morning! I hope you had a good night and woke up smiling. There are 2 types of redheaded woodpeckers that live around here somewhere. One that is very large and one that is small. I wondered about that, but never saw them at the same time before. I think they are different species. The bluejays don't seem to bother them like the other birds. A 5 cigarette morning. The dark of the moon comes tonight. I hope you have a good day.
fear coyote is loping across the grassy, wind swept plains head swinging to and fro coyote is old hide... the grasses whisper, bending low hide... oh hide freeze into the cold hard ground coyote eats the wind teeth glistening tongue lolling eye rolling around lo, the eye rolling around oh hide oh hide, the grasses clamor become the rock small, still and colorless bone cold
I hope your day went well and the night followed in the day's footsteps. To all who will sleep on this side of the world, The Nighly Mission: When the banshee keeps you from sleep and your mind churns out nonsense, bring up an image of a cool spring in the redwoods, the yellow light slanting through the tall dark immense trees. And breathe in the cool air, down to your toes. Stay in the light. Sleep well tonight. Wake to a new day. G'Night.
Good Morning. I hope you had a good night and woke up refreshed. Clear, blue, the sky holds no promise of rain today. The sun is bright, the birds are busy. I hope you have a good day.
Another day and night under the dark moon. To all who go to sleep tonight on this side of the world, The Nightly Mission: I hope the day and night that passed is not your last; that the morning sun will shine on you, will keep you in the light. G'Night.
The sun shines in my eyes this morning as it rises, through a gap in the live oaks. Birdsong pervades the neighborhood as the bluejays welcome the day. They take turns flying to the birdbath, splash around in it. I hope you made it safely through the night, find sanctuary today. I go off to work. Have a good day!
You too! And if you get a chance after work, its ANZAC Day over here: raise a glass for the fallen
Finally a nice if VERY breezy weekend. J and I found a great Irish Pub a town over and had a wonderful meal there. A place that ACTUALLY has hard cider ON TAP! Amazing. I thought I left all that behind when I moved out of Chicago. (Granted Chicago's only @ 20-30 minutes away, depending on traffic, but it seems worlds away at times) Today is a "grown ups only" day. N is with his mom, clothes shopping, no less (the poor little guy!). We take off to downtown Chicago to enjoy the weather and hang out by the lake and other attractions. Rain and T-storms are predicted. That's NOT stopping me. Enjoy your day!
Ah well, the best laid plans.... The weather kept us away from Downtown and the Lake today. Still managed to get out and about. Had a nice drive and some good local sightseeing. Will see what this evening brings. Stay tuned, true believers...
Fairly warm out tonight. Don't even need my sweats. Shorts and a t-shirt. Summer is coming. Hurricane season. I had a good day today. And a nice night. I spent some time tonight talking to a student from Palestine, going to university in Egypt. He is very homesick. 1st time away from home. He talks to his family when they come to 2nd Life. Saves money. I hope you had a good day and that the rest of the night goes well. To all who sleep on this side of the world and to those who will, eventuallly, on the other side, The Nightly Mission: Leave the cares and woes you wore on your shoulder, leave them at the door. They may still be there, if you want them when the morning sun sheds it's light. But maybe, maybe they will steal away, tip toe away softly, in the night. Maybe. Sleep like a rag doll (love that one), Wake up tomorrow. Stay in the light. G'Night.
