I just got a successful installation in vista.

Here's a log of my progress, with the problems and solutions I found...

Are you using Vista? Did you launch WinZip using 'Run as administrator?'

I had conflicts with WinRAR. I had to launch it using 'Run as administrator' and then navigate to the file and uncompress it using the WinRAR interface otherwise I'd get conflicts.

    Thanks for the reply dude.

Got the mod installed and running, hit the secure rom snafu will look for info on how to turn it off.

Had to Run as Admin & extract line by line one item at a time.

    Chirst on a Cross!

WTF is up with Vista? I have XP and so far everything I've read/seen/heard has me majorirly turned off. Is there ANY benefit for Vista for PC gamers?

It's not that bad, you just have to remember to launch everything using 'run as administrator' and only use programs you've launched that way to update TOEE.

    It's a pre-Vista game.

I probably couldn't either :p but besides vastly improved networking and larger file sizes (and I notice Vista still struggles with files and folders above a certain size) I think Win98 had it all over XP: leaner, faster and BACKWARDS COMPATIBLE.

    And DOS friendly :)

    Ola all,

As you can tell I have restricted time for gaming and such. Pretty much only Fri & Sat evenings.

Before digging into the securom I tried simply setting all options to default and guess what...

The bloody thing runs like a charm. Go figure. Set up a LG 4pc group and am going to kill some CE's. Yahoo!

I do so very much miss Windows XP though, It merely felt easier to dig into and find things.

    All my best.

Whoever designed the moathouse respawn has an evil mind...
I swear those bloody Bodaks in the dungeon killed poor Elmo and my Wizard just by staring at them.
Concentration check vs will check? or something similar..

My pal and war priest (both of Heironious)were up to their necks in critters using holy smite and circle of prot. while the rest of the party (npc's) were cowering in the corner.

    Evil evil evil.

    And very enjoyable.

Glad you like it :) Yes, Bodak's have a death gaze (fort save for memory - bad luck for Elmo).
