In the continuing tradition of trying to play legendary or iconic parties: I came across the charecters in an old Dragon (274) I bought in a Half Price Books, and I thought they would make an interesting party. But they seem a little over-powered, even accounting for their levels. Is there a consistent way to tone them down? I would have given Will Scarlet a few levels of bard as well considering how flamboyent he was dressed when they first met him - or maybe figter, since he gave Robin a good drubbing on the occasion.
I agree they are overpowered- take all their stats that would give them a +4 or +5 down 2 points and all the stats that would give them a +2 or +3 down one point across the board on all characters and that might balance it out a bit- what do you think?
I don't know if "overpowered" would really apply. They're epic heroes, like King Arthur, Gilgamesh, Beowulf, me.....
Game in progress. I took off only points to adjust down to level 1 and lose the 20's. Example: Robin -3, dex now 18. Robin, Ran 1 John, Ftr 1 Marion, Wiz 1 Will, Rog 1 Tuck, Cler 1 Alan, Brd 1 First crisis: Who gets the jaunty hat from Emiridy Meadows?
Before I even posted, Will had it. That post was meant to be funny. Uh, I don't know how I feel about this, but I've given Little John a greatsword.
Quarterstaff -its not about the Bonuses to damage- but the legend right? I thought he used a staff...
Staff (non-fatal), Longsword, Handaxe, Dagger and Bow. But, yeah, focus and specialization in Quarterstaff.
