This morning I saw the cardinals, a pair, now, the male and the female.
They sat on the dogwood for awhile, then flew off together.

The first tree frog of the season was on the outside wall of my house.
They winter over under my shutters and I was worried that the cold spells
had killed them all. The hide under the shutters during the heat of the
day, as well. Then stay up all night catching bugs. I like tree frogs.

Two ravens flew over heading east this morning, too. They are either
ravens or very large crows...almost the size of the buzzards.

Three squirrels played ring around the tree trunk this afternoon. Chasing
each other. I couldn't tell who was chasing who.

The dogwood tree is losing the blossoms, petal by petal. My lawn is sprinkled
    with white.

Already from the rain yesterday, the weeds grow.

I hope everyone had a good day.

    I'm still sick, but better.

To all who will sleep tonight on this side of the world,

    The Nightly Mission:

    When you lay your head
    on your pillow,
    examine your good thoughts
    one by one.

    For it will be too
    late tomorrow,
    do it now before the
    night is gone.

    Those are your reward,
    your salvation,
your grace, if you should find
    you need some.

    G'Night!
    Wake up in the morning.

Up with the sun again, I watch the squirrels waking up.

One drinks from the hole in the live oak. Judging from how far the squirrel
had to go into the hole, the level has dropped substantially, even
after the rain the other day.

More white petals on the lawn.

And a very large white bird flies north. Too high to tell what it is, I hope
it is not an owl. Probably not...most of the owls I have seen do not
    fly that high.

A woman I haven't seen before walks her dog and her two very small children
walk with her. The going is slow. The little guy looks like he has not been
walking long. The little girl pushes a scooter with her foot, but doesn't know
how, yet, to put both feet on the scooter and ride along. The dog is remarkably
patient. So is mom. I wave, mom waves, the little girl says 'Hi.'

No sign of the cardinals this morning.

I need to get more bird seed.

Good Morning, everyone. (Good night to the rest of the world.)

I hope you have a good day.

Night comes and with it the dark moon.

A female cardinal tried to come to the feeder, but my presence scared her away. Not so one of the little sparrows, who gobbled a while before flying off into the loquat tree.

Such tree no longer has any yellow leaves left on the branches, they all lay on the lawn (aka the weed patch). New little shoots are reaching up here and there, so it should soon look like itself again. The bush that I can never remember the name of also has shoots coming out of the tips of the pruned back branches or trunks, whatever they are, and buds that will leaf out are swelling all over it. It takes over that side of the front of the house when it gets going, no matter how severely it is pruned.

I saw not one, but two redheaded woodpeckers today. They do not like each other.

The white petals on the lawn increase. The first good breeze will take the rest, I think. The days of the dogwood blossoms are doomed. Pity. All things must change, I guess. But some things shouldn't, they are too beautiful to lose. And no moon tonight to shine on the tree, the blossoms, one of the last nights I will see them.

I hope you all, those of you on this side of the world, have a good night.

I have my fingers crossed, for mine.

I am never ok when the moon is dark.

But I have survived many of them...one way or another.

I don't expect this one will be any different.

    Thanks for the concern.:)

    An early Nightly Mission:

    If you take your tears
    into your bed
    the pain in your head
    will crawl into your dreams,
    sure slow poison.

    Take all that remains
    of joy instead
    not what died and bled
out of the cracks, the seams
    of dry reason.

    To the morning, then.

    G'Night

The clouds in the east were pink this morning.

It is not cold enough to wear a jacket.

Busy already, the squirrels travel and search
the smallest branches. They must be triggered
not only by the light but by temperature, too.

The sparrows fly back and forth from the loquat
tree to the dogwood, waiting for me to come
inside so they can access the feeder.
They are not patient, and let me know that
they are not pleased, clicking away at me.

A long day ahead on little sleep.

    My cup overfloweth, with coffee.

Good Morning to all who rise from sleep,
whether it was enough or not. I hope
    you have a good day.

Long past it's bedding (or roosting) time, a bird in the loquat tree sings and sings.

Everything else, the squirrels, other birds, are quiet and set for the night.

At work, every machine I touch today jams and jams and jams again.

The copy machine, the printer, the shredder. I am lousy at clearing jams, so it
requires someone else to clear them, taking them away from what they are doing.
I swear and swear. I tell everyone what time I am coming in tomorrow, tell them
to have all their copying, printing and shredding done by then. They laugh.

The little girl from down the street, the house on the corner, can play basketball
better than all of the neighborhood boys. She rarely misses a shot. She looks
to be in middle school and hasn't outgrown being a tomboy, yet.

Too bad she is so short. High school would love her.

The dogwood tree has lost half of it's blossoms, my yard is littered with white petals.

    Have a good night.

Settling down myself, with J. N's running about with his friends, armed to the teeth with their new toy shotguns, wreaking havoc on imaginary zombies and monsters everywhere.

It's been a good couple of days vacation so far. I could get used to this. Still up in the air about what we're doping tomorrow. The weather will play a deciding factor. Plan B's are in the works...

On a completely unrelated topic... (just throwing it out there)

I lost my f***ing DVD ROM today. My system won't recognize them and I'm getting a message in the device area that the drivers are missing or corrupted. The only I've done was to down load the official patch for Fallout 3 from the home website. Running windows trouble shooting was a waste. Am I looking at a re-installation of the drivers from the original/backup CD's? Or is it something much worse? :nervous:

Some general info would be helpful for now....

For now, I'll go and relax with J and my coffee. Tomorrow's another day and with any luck, I won't be anywhere near the PC to worry about it problems!

P.S. Scry, besides your "jamming super powers" (We'd LOVE you in our office! :poke:) how are you feeling? From your recent illness, I mean, but any general reports would eb welcome!

Glad your vacation is turning out well. Hope the um 'doping' was an error.:poke:

    See, I can poke, too.

How so would your office love me? The swearing? Mostly all I say is 'you sob.'

I am much better, some congestion that will go away eventually. Especially if the pine pollen stops falling all over the place. Someone today, from out of the area, was writing 'I am dirty' on my car, in the yellow pollen that covered it. I told her, you better go wash your hands or you are going to be sneezing like crazy. She thought it was dirt.

I am hanging in there, otherwise. Getting used to that. Thanks for asking.:)
