Read my post. Call her up, tell her you have a surprise waiting for her when she comes home. Women like this sort of thing. Trust me.
It's getting later all the time, but you could just call her and ask her what the address is, then adamantly refuse to tell her why you're asking. She'll know, of course, which will hopefully only increase her titillation and anticipation and make her think how wonderful you are. Plus, I'm quite sure that women really like to have a spectacle made of such a thing in front of others. It's like a public showing of how important they are. The last step would be to hope to god that you could actually get the roses there on time.
Happy Valentine's Day, all -- especially to those who would go without such tidings by chance or otherwise.
The good news is C rescheduled again to Monday. She's a hair dresser, and must accomodate her clients. But, I think it's too late to do something for A today. I believe I'll try to have something in A's apartment when she get's back Monday evening. I don't have a key, but I do have A's sister as an accomplice. :eyebrow: What, besides roses, would be a good surprise? I wouldn't mind a little brainstorming from those who aren't experts on this. She's in her late 30's, and pretends to disdain my fantasy leanings, but is secretly more into movies like Ladyhawk, Dragonslayer and Hellboy than I am. :gotmyatte
Well, for the first Valentine's I shared with J (my wife), I surprised her with a home cooked, somewhat fancy, dinner and a homemade CHOCOLATE desert. Add red wine, candles, a sprinkling of rose petals over the table, and viola! You got the movie part down alright. Just add the above dinner and you've got something much better than a "date night". The chocolate part is very important. Unless A doesn't like it, and if that's the case, well, I'll let that one go. The cooking part for me was no big deal, as I have a huge passion for cooking as it is. But it's the "homemade" attempt that delivers the most meaning. To give of your time, skill, etc just for her is the best gift anyone can give their other. As for one of your earlier posts, you won't be in the doghouse just because of today and it's scheduling. You WILL BE if you don't do something when she comes back. Good Luck, my man!
Chocolate, always. But it has to be the good stuff. I think it's some kind of genetic absolute that all women everywhere must love chocolate. Lucky thing for us guys: it can't go wrong as a gift. at Scryler and right back atcha.
I would like to tell all what I did for my Queen (no, not Scryler, my wife) this year. While she was out with her "Horror movie buddies" - a couple of women that inexplicably like Horror movies like she does, watching Friday the Thirteenth on Friday the Thirteenth from 11pm till about 2 am before she got home I : 1. Set a 30 Gallon fish tank with fish- we had previously had a little 3 gallon one and the light died, so I had prepared the wkk before. 2. In the "bubble clam" I put a diamond ring I had bought her- (not an expensive one, but nice and striking) as a hidden extra. Now, she had NO idea about the tank, and I had to rearrange our entire bedroom to put it where the dresser was, so she coupld view it up close while relaxing from the bed. And of course I had to move the shelf where the dresser went to, sso this was a lot of work. My wife has always loved fish, and used to stare for hours at her great grandmother's when she was young, she has told me that it calms her and makes her happy to stare at fish- our previous 3 gallon tank used to be way on the other side of the house in ahall near the kids rooms. So when she came home I suprised her since it was Valentines Day- and I gave her a box of her favorite treat to top it off- a dozen white chocolate dipped strawberries... She almost cried and said she didn't deserve me, when really I don't deserver HER! She's a great woman...
It is truly a wondrous night, the breeze soughing through the trees, raindrops catching the light, dancing like fireflies, the air fresh and clean, me sitting on the porch watching the clouds etched in silver sailing the darkening sky, and owl hooting "Who are you, Who are you? May you all have such a night with the ones you care for, together.
Yes, pitch black and a cold, soaking rain, 'tis truly a wondrous night. But, you're right, beauty is all around us. Most of the time, we are too busy to stop and enjoy it. If you're feeling down, take a few minutes. Thanks for the sunset Scryler. Taken with a cell phone from a car with my son. It is place where old trees were bulldozed to build ugly condos. Beauty is still there. Completely an impulse shot.
Beautiful and sad at the same time. Sort of looks like a screen shot of the Capital Wasteland from Fallout 3!
It is spring in Florida. The birds chirping, and the trees starting to leaf out. I miss the spring in California and Oregon.
