True, and yet we all want to think they will, don't we? That's how the 'mix tape' was born, bestowed upon many a girlfriend or boyfriend or just regualr old friend to benign indifference more often than not, I suspect.

I've given a mix tape to someone ONCE in my life. She was, among other things, a professional musician. She loved all of it. Though she's still amused that I included "Whole Lotta Love" by Led Zeppelin in the midst of all those love songs. Our son loves much of the same music. C has given me a mix disc. A gourgeous black lady rapper using MySpace to promote her music sent me a friend request. I confirmed and asked her why. She thought the theme music, "How Many More Times", by Led Zeppelin, was "kinda hot". To gainsay myself, some people will love your music, because you love theirs... "If music be the food of love, Then play on."
Ahhh, Zeppelin, music of the gods. The GODS, I tells ya!! :rant: I got on a bus the other day, doing an agency shift. Bunch of kids I didn't know (that I was working with) and bunch of young adults I didn't know (that I was working beside) on a bus to an outing. The busdriver put on the oldies station and Babe I'm Gonna Leave You came on (NOT something you hear on the radio out here in Oz). "OMG ZEPPLIN!" I screamed (in full - not 'Oh Em Gee'). You don't need to hear the rest :blush:
Sorry I kind of lost track... what am I supposed to say? I draw inspiration from various things... it may be something sad, happy, something that made me angry... even if it's someone else's experience it may influence me in some way... so it may be simply anything. Sometimes it comes just out of the blue and I start playing some riffs which may later form a song... I write down my parts for other (band members) to evaulate on and if it's good, then they're adding their own stuff to mine... it's team work (usually). Of course others write riffs too... actually we're working on three new songs right now. ;P Although I can be a real ass at times, especially while we're re-arranging new stuff, you know, which riff goes where, how many times it's looped, etc. I'm not a leader type (at least I don't consider myself so) but when it comes to music I tend to tell other people what to do. :/ --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- BTW, I'd like to recommend something to listen. Dreams. Fixed version probably moreso the case with the hot rapper, but then what do I know? Step up to the plate, Ted: why is Zeppelin good, and should they be thought to be good in the 'cosmic' sense?
Funny, I rarely remember those. Must be subconscious... OK, I'll tell you why I'm recommending those bands. Riverside is one of the most interesting bands that recently appeared on the music "scene". They play hypnotic, dreamy progressive rock and their vocalist is simply amazing. Indukti is even more interesting because of a richer number of instruments among which you can find violin, harps and the didgeridoo (very unusual if you consider that we're talking about a Polish band)! Also, non-standard measure, broken riffs and overall energy flowing from the speakers make it a recommendable listen for all fans of progressive rock.
That's kind of interesting too - must require a significant level of diplomacy for a band scenario. I think that would drive me crazy. :dizzy:
I think that it's the only way to go to stay creative, I don't have hired musicians in the band, I want them to create music with me. I wouldn't call it diplomacy, more of a healthy debate... becoming a heated one at times. I'm not, say, Josh Homme, who changes half of the Queens of the Stone Age line-up for every album. ;P
I remember a lot of my dreams... I even like nightmares. I like the shooting up from the depths of sleep like you have been underwater a long way down...rise gasping...and it's not happening. Whatever was down there with you is not in the room. Sometimes I laugh. I guess I'm weird. Sometimes I turn the light on all night. Thanks for the links...sounds like music I'd like.
