We probably don't have a chance to stop talking since you still looking for isults.
On a bypass note just tell me what did you do to maggit while he affronted me yet didn't even know myself for real nor who i am? Should I tell anyone that Gaear is stupid because I heard that some said it? (just example to show you a difference) Did you confirm his words or just favored him? You call it a justice anyhow? Do you expect me more parlamentar on it?
I personally don't care what you think of it one way or the other, and it's a bit pretentious of you to think that we're all nervously wringing our hands wondering how you feel about something.
You can play ignorance for me if like it, it's your choice that just will evidence your intentions (i hope not). You just probably ignore 1/3 of playing mod actually (that was sarcastic, but without malice, I just hope you either take any opinion under cosideration not only applauses). Explaining "low level" mod's content with being not responsible is - i use your words laughable - you label it with your name by supporting it. Even if it is only my very subjective view, look at the popularity of the site and mod at all. Are you content to have it known by so few people? I am not since it is worthy playing however. In one of polish magazines 5.0.0 was published with note "use at your very own risk" and "if you do really like experiments" - are you satisfied with such opinions?
I always support modders like me, even if i could expect more from them, since we all waste our private time for "society" and that's why wanted to translate the module of Co8 and since I saw very failed work on it.
On a side note, I feel I must remind you that as of this time you still don't have permission to use modded Co8 content for your Polish translation project.
Getting back to the point I'm sure I put your Co8 licence to the translation mod, you didn't mention any other rules. Did i miss something? Well it is obviously gentle to ask, but we don't speak as equals until now (at least you don't treat me like that) so why do you expect gentleness? Did I ever answered you not to bother/find it yourself/no/yes/I'm really not inclined to respond - You did. I really wanted to know some answers about ToEE since you didn't feel like helping I had to do by myself and did, however lost few weeks more instead doing better things. And i'm just used to get clear answers like i do myself instead of halfways. I don't say a word at all if I don't have time to give satisfying answer, as none of yours cleared me anything on modding (but still thanks for good intensions).

However I ask hereby to let me do my job if i missed any note on it - as i lost many days for it. I believe it will be profitable for you more than hunting my words. And it cannot be simple translation since I can't translate some of clauses/words/jokes etc. since they are unlogic (like Gwen talking about Verbobonc while being far away from there?), not funny or infantile or at least difficult to translate as you use partially not common language. Sorry, but no way, it is just not possible. There is also very different style of original language from dictionary Co8 uses. Dialogs in Co8 mod are simply different than those from the game and it is seen while playing. I want to make translation more similar to the game's style so changes, including removing bugs/missed options and some ideas unacceptable from my point of view you didn't notice are neccesity as well as rebalance since I also can't accept current overpowering. People will blame me if I release bugged module and any support from you won't help. I learned that lesson when incorporated one of BG modules into mine.

PS. I really work hard actually on several projects (in between converting Baldur's Gate to ToEE) wasting my absolutely private time not to check if i'm yet banned or not. I don't look for any arguments but you also should try be to more objective and less careles about words (well you don't have anymore since we got into some conclusions and I don't feel like i really affronted anyone) since if I want to affront anyone I will do and inform him with big letters.

Just a little post scriptum - I still don't know where was the moment you changed the numbers, and there must be possibly wrong way of distributing it since not only me missed it (and was that really neccesary while it probably needs to play new game?). I just would like really know when and where that change is. If you have put it into CMF release then change is really meaning to probably re-number release's version as well.

If I started work on old CMF 5.0.6 relaese I can't monitor every hidden change.

I have a couple of bugs to report.

First, I can verify GA's "freeze in Hommlet" bug - it started midway through my latest game.

Second, and this is not really new, but I haven't had any problems with it in a long time, I haven't been able to get Thrommel's reward party to show up. When I found Thrommel, I left the Temple through the secret escape tunnel by Smigmal and Falrinth's rooms, then went to the burnt farmhouse. Thrommel didn't leave the party. I went back underground and came out in the broken tower - again, nothing from Thrommel. Then I used the door icon to go to the Temple exterior map, and Thrommel gave his goodbye speech and left. However, despite resting for over a month in Hommlet and then travelling back and forth many times, no reward party has shown up. I wonder if the map changes may be somehow influencing this.

After rescuing the Prince and unsuccessfully trying to conjur up the reward, I gave up and went on with the adventure. I soon found Tillahi and the elves. I took them out of the Temple by going straight to the top and exiting via the Temple exterior map. Not only did Tillahi give her goodbye speech, but the elves' reward party soon showed up. Interesting, no?

Good catch erkper, that's exactly what it was. Fix posted to CMF submissions.

As for the reward timing, I suspect that's what it's always been: unreliable. I don't think the map changes wouldn't have any effect on that.

Update on that (I was paying closer attention this time.):

    1. It started at 4th level this time. Perhaps its a mild save corruption.
    2. It doesn't have anything to do with the assassin. (Duh!)
    3. It seems to be associated with map changes, both buildings and big map.
    4. It's always outside and in Homlett.
    5. It seems to be associated with the Smith or the Woodcutter, and perhaps the children.
    6. Sometimes it's a freeze, sometimes a movement abruptly ends before completion (jerkstop).
    7. Sometimes the outdoor NPC's are frozen, sometimes not.
    8. Maybe related, Bro Smith never hammers anymore. Was any of that "Night" stuff implemented?
    9. Jerkstop is similar to phenomena during movement when combat is not initiating properly.

    * Easily fixed by entering a building (unless frozen) or leaving Homlett.

    Thank you.

I say that about the maps because I always found I had the best luck with getting the reward if I revisited the map Thrommel left from. That is, if I exited through the burnt farmhouse map, I could do all the resting and travelling you could imagine to no avail - until I went back to the burnt farmhouse map. Then I would get the reward on the next random encounter. Maybe it was just dumb luck, but it always seemed consistent for me.

I'll just add that I tried to replicate the freeze bug by heading over to the woodcutter several times, but could not replicate it. So we are working on it. But if there are any ideas, please let us know :)

It seems to be some sort of map condition that exists upon arrival on the Hommlet exterior map, from inside the Welcome Wench, for example, or from outside the town. I 've never gone to the smith with it not happening, followed by it happening later while still on that map. It's either consistent or not present.

I'm reporting it because it's new for me, and I'd like others to report if they start experiencing it repeatedly. Perhaps just one similar occurrence is not the same thing. Once it starts for me, it seems to reoccur randomly, but somewhat regularly.

It is absolutely NOT a game breaker, just a mild nuisance. I doubt it would be worthwhile to spend any time investigating it. I wouldn't be surprised if it goes away the next I add a new patch, or rebuild the game.

It could be an artifact of my present build. Or some interaction between the game and the sweltering shitfest that is my Toshiba with Vista. For example, I've started getting lock ups from some sort of video failure. This never happened when I first got his computer. I'm sure it's the computer, not the game suddenly having higher graphic requirements.

Since it's not common, it can't be important right now. It would be fine to wait until we know more. Thanks for your concern, though. ;)

This is exactly how it occurs for me, and for both of us it only started after we patched the game to 5.0.6 (IIRC the first time GA reported it) so I am inclined to think it is something with the latest build, not a random glitch. But like GA says, it is not a gamebreaker and will likely go away just as mysteriously as it appeared.

I second this. Yet I've only had the freeze bug occur twice so far and those incidents were spaced quite apart. Easily corrected by exiting Hommlet to a different map, say the grove, and then returning to Hommlet.

Running the same 5.0.06 build as Erkper and GA82 with the old FE.
Didn't upgrade to the new FE, waiting for new CMF.

Yah: I certainly do believe that somehow or other this is something that has been introduced by 5.0.6, but it might also only occur on cetain equipment, for whatever reason. Some of the slowdowns / freezes reportd on certain maps in KotB only occur for me on my laptop, not on my proper PC, so its a combination of software and hardware. Makes it hard to replicate if that is the issue, but we'll keep trying :)

More detail on the freeze/jerkstop phenomenom:

At 7th level, my characters signposted to the cabinet makers to sell some goblin wares. When they appeared, they were frozen, so I panned around to see what else was going on. Black Jay and his animals were frozen, as was a nearby badger. As I continued to pan, everybody unfroze and a second badger walked onto the screen from the direction I was panning towards.

Perhaps this is associated with the regular game activity where NPC's are frozen until your party is nearby.

I am reporting this, not because it is urgent, but because it is interesting. It is really not more than a minor nuisance, and no resources should be expended trying to work on it. ;)

Had something similar (if not the same) occur last night on level 3 of the Temple. The freeze occurred right at the entrrance to the Jackals and Jackalweres room. Everythin froze up and seemed to "stutter". The music played and the "Bless" spell effects were still working (although the spell effects seemed to suffer from stuttering as well).

This occurrence was slightly different in effect from the freezes encountered in Hommlet.

Was able to restart from an old save and never had it occur since.

Running XP, v5.0.6 mod, and the old FE. Definitely an interesting phenomenon but NOT a game breaker. More of a "frustrated sigh" kind of deal.

Hi, sorta new to this, read the TOEEFEX text file not super computer savvy I'll do the best I can.

1.Windows XP not sure if SP2 or 3 how do I tell?
    2.Used PATCH2 TOEEFE X and Co8 5.0.0 Final patched to cmf 5.0.6 9/28/08
    5. I am early in the game and in the Co8 module Brother Smyth won't barter w/ me as well certain enemies won't attack me like guards outside the Moathouse or the Ogre downstairs but the guards inside top and bottom floor do attack. Checked in vanilla version everything went swimmingly. When I initally upgraded I ran into the 511 MM and looting problems but fixed that w/ a complete uninstall/reinstall. Installed patches and updates per detailed list in different thread. Hope this helps.

I've done an uninstall/reinstall several times, trying to self diagnose by comparing vanilla to mod pack. Only seems to happen in mod version
