    I came a little late to this - I also thought the stone one didn't work, the wooden one looks great, and its a nice nod to Sitra to keep using his work since he initiated all this.

    no the "steaks" were only $40 and up, it's everything else that adds up with the appetizers, the sides and of course the drinks...

    but back to the "real" world.... heres what I hope is the final mockup on the maps and if it meets general concensus I will split at noon and email Allyx.. I reset the oblique angle of the shadow and then softened it to help it blend with the shadows on the daytime map

    Thanks dude, I'll d/l ti, whack it in the game and move the invis talking critter to the sign's location, and post the full fix soon. :)

    Meh, I put the new map sections into the game, loaded it up, and then realised - you can't walk on that part of the map :(

    So a new game will definately have to be started with this fix as I've edited the .sec file to enable you to actually get to the post to interact with it. ;)

    [EDIT] Here it is, a new signpost for Nulb, (artwork by Cujo and Ax Thrower), I've got rid of the Zombie, expanded the traversable area around the new sign (so you can get to it) and edited the dialoge so we're not talking to a Zombie any more.

    A NEW GAME MUST BE STARTED AFTER YOU APPLY THIS MOD!
    Failure to do so will cause crashes as soon as you go to Nulb, and make travelling to the entrance of Nulb from further in the town impossible (death by sparklies).

    I included the day and night map chunk that have the sign post on them, the game will use the new map chunk to over-ride the original map chunk in the game, there is no need to use all the chunks of map you mailed me Ax Thrower, as they haven't been changed since the game was released the game will get those from the .dat file.

    @Sitra and anybody else who's interested:

    Would there be any objections to adding signpost teleport locations for the north end of town, the south end of town, and the east end of town as indicated on the attached image? I'm aware that destinations already include Percy's farm near the south end and the stonemason's place near the east end, as well as most likely something I can't think of atm on the north end. But perhaps these could be changed to the proposed 'north, south, and east' instead of adding new teleports. (It's a bid odd that a public signpost would point to someone's private residence, for example.)

    This would facilitate movement through town in fairly recognizable fashion if you had a grasp of your compass points, and you could get to wherever you want to go - residential/farms in the south, labor/construction/town defense stuff in the east, business district stuff in the north - without too much trouble.

    We could add something for west too except that 'west' in Hommlet is not as clearly defined - there's nothing of particular interest over there besides the brewhouse, and no town ingress/egress points, etc.

    Never irked me much, but I suppose I wouldn't object. The west is redundant though, IMO.

    One thing about the post I'm not too satisfied with, however, is that the post itself is blank (graphically). I always deferred revamping the post's graphic till I learned modeling/texturing better in Blender, but unfortunately I'm just not that skilled in that department... maybe one of the more talented artists here wants to pick that up?

    Humm, what do you mean?
    the post have a graphic, and very well done btw; my only objection it's that it doesn't light up, i know it can't be done, so i suggest a bit of fiddling to make it more ovbious.

    Great idea, imho. Though the west isn't that redundant...Armario dwell over there, and it's one of the traders, it's really a PITA to run around the damned river just to get there.

    By 'blank', I meant it has no captions/writing on it. It's just a couple of wooden planks on a pole right now. It's almost forgiveable given ToEE's zoomed out viewing distance, but it could be improved IMO.

    Armario and the traders are already specifically mentioned in the post... and I don't believe Gaear said they should be removed. Given that both of those and the brewhouse are already mentioned by name, there is no point in adding 'Hommlet West' or whatever. What Gaear merely proposed, as I understand it, is to change 'Teamster's residence' to 'Northern Residences', 'Percy's Residence' to 'Southern Residences' and 'Stonemason's Residence' to 'Eastern Residences and Castle', or something to that effect, since pointing out individual residences on a central signpost could be perceived as strange (and it would be, in a real world, I just personally don't mind it because for me, gamist considerations trump simulationist considerations in this particular case).

    Aah, i see.
    Well, Gaear asked for names on the traders signposts (you 'now, the one in hommlet's inn for example), but i dunno if it's a good idea...there are too many non english speaker players, and could be a bit rude to have the writtings only in english...or we could make some unreadable symbols, but make them look like writting -maybe pointing arrows?-, that could be easy. :)
