As a random fact, my party, which reached level 15 by the last (?) quest ( chapter 4) was Rog10/Bd5 (CG) "face", Barb15(CG) "tank", Barb1/Wiz14(CG) "sparky", Cl15(NG) "healer/holysmiter", Barb1/Dr14 (NG) "summon dude / nature wrath", Ftr15 (CG) high dex "Archer/Twf secondary hitter "
2) Chapter 2 ( NOT in the Cove ) 3) Chapter 2 or 3 don't remember exactly, sorry 4) Chapter 2 ( NOT in the Cove; incidentally, Spoiler same place as 2) ) 5) Chapter 2 ( or later, depending when Spoiler will you take on the stone guardians in the underbelly of the stronghold )
I can't stress enough how important is to have ALL five glyphs . Believe you me, it worth it!! I'm not talking about receiving a gaziliion xp ( you will receive decent xp lol), or the ultimate weapon of awesomeness/ instant fight win ( you will find good stuff) or anything like that but, oh boy, the joy and fun and cameos.... I really don't want to spoil it , even with the spoiler tag...
And, btw, if you really can't find all the glyphs ( I did, wink wink ) you can Spoiler ask Riss, he can divine the location of one glyph of your choice , albeit at the cost of some years of his life...
There was previous mention(s) that any quests that aren't completed at the each of each chapter will be botched. If these, and maybe some others, are persistent, then that changes things. So is my #1 persistent, too? I just want to complete all possible Chapter 1 quests, but there's no list that has this information of what quests are only for a specific chapter and what quests will be given in a chapter but it will be completed in a different chapter. Or are they all persistent and I misunderstood that they'd all be botched at the end of the chapter. Just for fun I spoke to the head of the church and i got the supplies for the Sisters' quest. Since I am so advanced in level, those battles were quite tough. There were some big boys that were added to those battles. I am currently at level 7 - so no need to worry about XP farming.
Not sure about #1 as I finished it, sorry. And I think Marc said he made it so you have to finish the Guildmaster / Ship's Captain quests so he wouldn't have to botch them off-screen, since some of the Guildmasters aren't around for ch 2.
[ Sorry I've been a bit lax here lately. I'm preparing to take a 4-day trip with my Dad this weekend, and I've been busy preparing and such. I'll also be gone on the trip itself till Monday or Tuesday. After that I'll be back on the ball and check in daily. ] Regarding starting a new chapter: 1. No quest will ever be automatically botched by changing a chapter. You don't need to worry about that. 2. If the game tells you it's OK to start a new chapter, it means all your required quest have been completed. It also means that there are no unfinished quests lingering on your list that need to be completed. There still may be other unfinished quests on your list (this is OK, and you don't need to finish them in chapter 1). 3. These are the only quests that must be completed IF they have been accepted: - Any quest accepted by a Guildmaster. {5} {This Old House} {6} {She's Good With Wood} {7} {All the Beautiful Colors} {8} {Sword of Evil} {9} {Goblin Purge} {10} {Kaleela the Teenage Witch} {11} {Armed Escort} {12} {Here Kitty Kitty} - Any quest accepted by a Ship Captain. {64} {A Thief in the Night} {66} {Eviction Notice} {68} {Dock Hunt} - Any quest accepted by the Church. {71} {Bats in the Attic} {72} {Snow Sisters} So one last time, the above quests are not required to move on to chapter 2. In fact, you don't need to do any of those above quests in chapter 1 (you only need to complete the big 3 required quests stated in the Chapter 1 quest description: "Lost in His Own Museum", "At a Crossroads", and "The Unknown". However, if you DO accept any of the quests I listed above, then they must be completed before moving on to the next chapter. That said, I do recommend that you do undertake a majority of those quest, so you'll get enough XP and Levels to handle the next chapter. To clear up confusion during the game, I will change the description of the quest that completes Chapter One to something like this. From: Chapter one ends when you complete the quests "Lost in His Own Museum", "At a Crossroads", and "The Unknown".To: Chapter one ends when you complete the quests "Lost in His Own Museum", "At a Crossroads", and "The Unknown". (You must also complete any quest accepted by a Guildmaster, a Captain, or the Church.) @FDR4PREZ You still have work to do on this quest. Without giving too much away. You have not found and confronted the final boss for that quest. Small spoiler: Spoiler They may only appear at night. All 5 of these quests you listed are OK to leave unfinished. In fact, 2-5 can't be completed until later chapters. And to restate, they will never be auto-botched.
I have no idea why that works for me and not for others. But I won't dig in any deeper, since it's been totally fixed with getting the factions set properly for the next release. Still nags at the curiosity part of my brain, though. Must, let, go... Hey that's a good quick workaround, and much faster than the unrecruiting, but yeah you miss the scorpions. Did un-recruiting everyone fix the problem? So that the only problem was getting Torv back? Torv leaves the inn after chapter 1, and may turn up later in the game depending on how he was treated. So were you in chapter 2 when you tried this?
Thank you very much. It was 10 years of fun and learning. I bet in a few years you can just ask an AI to do it all for you, and it will be done in a few minutes. Amazing what they can do these days.
Most of the quests in chapter one, can be done later on in other chapters. It's intentionally left open-ended like that. But, as you're group grows in power, the encounters will get tougher too.
Hey Marc, I'll be offline for a week doing a dopamine detox (also not playing games). Have done about half of Mr Temm's house. See you next week!
Thanks for the all the feedback. For my #1: Thanks. I've gone through that secret location numerous times, and it is always empty. I've even gone out the back door and looked over there. I'll keep trying. EDIT - OK I've done it and the quest is complete. Thanks
I went ahead and did #72 - some tough battles due to my higher level that i am at now. #8 - that was a confusing quest. Hard to determine what exactly you are supposed to do, or if you are really doing the "good" thing or not, or what's the consequences of what you are doing in this quest. Anything you do seems to lead to a battle, so why do one thing and not the other? #9 - I learned about this quest and I didn't like it, so I reloaded from before I learned it.
