I can't seem to locate this one. The string "I now" didn't come up in a search of all dialogs. Perhaps it was "I might now", or "I didn't now"? If you see it again, let me now.
ok, i have used a Win10 computer and I have installed ToEE (GOG) with Co8-NC and this worked in Window Mode only, but at least it plays, and I am OK with Window Mode. Now i have dropped in Paladin's Cove and activated it. i was able to successfully start a game and walk around a bit and successfully entered into some buildings. Now I will create a real party and play-away
Marc... the amount of detail in this first chapter is so amazing. I am loving playing through this mod, the decisions matter and there are a ton of quests! Just what the doctor ordered. Sincerely thank you for all of your hard work on this mod.
URSA IS FREEEEE! Sorry, couldn't help myself there. It sounds like a great piece of emergent gameplay worthy of Arcanum. I say you leave it in. In all honesty, this mod sounds incredibly impressive! The area art looks almost new - did you use any outside assets or just re-arrange everything well? Can't wait to give it a try.
Glad you like it so far. Much of it is re-used art from the original game, with new surfaces and colors put onto the exterior houses quite often. When you do that, and also when you rearrange it into different streets, your mind tends to see it all as new. But much of it is actually new. It's really a 50/50 mix of new and old. I used very few game assets, mostly it was just 2D pictures I googled that I angled properly and pasted into the picture (correct coordination of sharpness, blur, saturation, and of course shadows can go a long way in making it all come together realistically). I dabbled with Blender for a few months, which was exhausting, mostly to put in a map for a ship made from a 3D asset. The ship appears is in chapter 2.
I found two little typos. #1: The Main Gate #2: ..., then greets you more importantly, I have tried numerous times to exit the main gate and move down the map along the wall. each time I do, then the game bogs down and the players will stop moving, and the map has issues with things disappearing, and sometimes the entire screen turns black.
Soreee, more trouble. Now I get this on EVERY map, except inside buildings. Whilst I can still play, it is annoying It all started Spoiler: SPOILER ALERT!! As soon as the battle with the Frost Giants in front of the Snow Sisters monastery started Loading a previous save solves the problem. However, I was silly enough to keep on playing ( partly because I just won a VERY challenging battle lol... ) and four hours later, hoping the problem will solve itself, well , it didn't and I really don't want to go back . WAAAAHHHH
Sorry bout that. Those are my internal debugging message that I turn on when testing. I have found (and fixed) the line in the script where I accidentally turn it on. But until the next version... You can turn it off by bringing up the console using SHIFT-tilde, and then typing this: Code: from ed import * ggv(900,0) Or if you want old-school directly Code: game.global_vars[900] = 0
1. Thanks for the typos, I've fixed them. 2. As far as that second bug, all I can say is... I REALLY hate when that happens, and I have seen it from time to time. It's usually repeatable to the particular save and map, but if I back up and start from an earlier time in the game, it can often times go away. I think it has to do with particles misbehaving in some way. And I think I've seen it in the original game too, but I hate to deflect with that excuse. Is it anywhere outside the wall, or only when you go thru the main gate? Also, can you travel where you want to go by jumping outside the walls there by talking to a patrolman? Can you continue the game without going out there? Just to clarify, I've never seen it in that location with any of my test runs. But I have seen it at the Crossroads a few times.
I've not been to the Crossroads, yet, or to other world map locations. So far I am just walking around inside the city walls and seeing what there is to do. I did not know that i can get outside the main gate from talking to a partolman. I've only used the main gate door. from the main gates, i've successfully walked up (north) and followed the wall around across to the other side of the city without trouble, but I don't go too far away from the wall. I've gone down between the wall and big crack in the ground, down to the little water area over there. I only have the trouble when I go down from the main gates. Now that I know the Patrolman can teleport me out there, that is successful and I got to that little building out there with the hanging boat and little wharf/dock, but as i walk back to the Main Gate as I get back to the lower left corner of the map it started acting funny again. So it seems to be isolated to just that one lower left area outside the walls. For testing, I just started a new game and walked my naked guys to the Main Gate, and then exited to the outside and started walking south (down), and I successfully walked all the way down and around to under the city to that little hut down there. So a new game is working. I will try to load some older games and check them, but as I've not gotten too far in the game it won't be too bad to restart completely. or if you tell me that there is nothing to do down there, then i can continue with my existing game and not bother going down there. thoughts?
Thanks for all the information you wrote, it confirms what I experience as well. Glad it wasn't there for the new game. As far as the existing games, luckily there is nothing at all that happens down there where you have the problem. That is, there is no reason in this release to go from the main gate and counter-clockwise down to the little shack. So it happened in a fortunate area. So for this run, you should be OK. I would continue on. It still annoys me when it happens, even though it's pretty rare.
thanks for the confirmation. for now, I'll keep running this game. When I decide to go the Crossroads, then we'll see what that brings to me
