I'm all set to defend Homlett against the Hextorite invaders, but I've hit a bug. After I leave the elder's house and fight and defeat Wakeland and his chums, the game pops up a 'opps - temple + crashed' message, clicking ok causes the game to exit. I've tried it three times, with the same result. A bit of digging led me to the templeplus.log file which give a bit more information on whats happening: [2021-11-06 18:40:26.117] [core] [info] Ending combat (enemies far from party) [2021-11-06 18:40:26.117] [core] [info] d20_mods_spells.c / _remove_spell(): removing spell=( Wind Wall ) on obj=( Hextor Elementalist ) [2021-11-06 18:40:26.117] [core] [warning] Unable to spawn unknown particle system: sp-Wind Wall-END [2021-11-06 18:40:26.117] [core] [error] Trying to set object for invalid particle system handle: 1064507946 Seems that the game is struggling to remove the graphic for wind wall. I can find windwall.py and .pyc files, but its not obvious to me what those do, so I'd probably better not mess with them I tried setting the particles to 0 in the options, but that made no difference. I'm using co8 mod 8.1.0, and my start up screen says version 1.0.84 Two questions: Is there a way to fix this issue? Something like a missing resource file maybe? If not, is there anything I can do in game to get round it?
Update: Upon exiting the elders house, and before the dialog, by hitting 'C' for combat I can act before the elementalist casts his spell. Filling him full of arrows seems to solve the problem! Feels a little cheaty, but I'll live. Would still like to know if I'm missing any updates / files etc. Thanks
This was reported recently - if I understood it rightly, it has to do with the number of targets Wind Wall can handle before it fails. Did you have a large party with lots of animals / commanded undead / other hangers-on?
I had quite a large party. I have 8 pcs - 6 rangers and a wizard and cleric. Each Ranger has bear. This is starting to sound a bit like that st. Ives riddle. Wizard + Cleric + 6 rangers + 5 bears + 1 panda = 14 all in
You avoided this bug in one of the 2 ways without a patch. Good job. The other way is to reduce the number of extra help. It is fixed in the next version of temple+. Indeed, it is the elementalist casting his special version of wind wall that causes this bug - when there is a very large party+extras. The rest of the campaign should run fine with those extra party numbers, though.
