I realize that nothing will ever compare to Troika's masterpiece we all adore, having played through the game a handful of times myself and never having a dull moment, but has anyone looked at what could possibly be the next best thing:

Solasta: Crown of the Magister (2020), turn-based, 5.1 SRD D&D for the PC.

Looks like it's slated to come out this year, possibly delayed, but I believe a beta is out. It's based on 5th Ed. Curious on the thoughts of these forum-goers or if anyone has tried a version yet.

5 ed games most likely are going to be SJW and crappy. Personally I have 0 expectations from them.

I suggest looking at Realms Beyond: Ashes of the Fallen.

I have been playing the Solasta EA and enjoying it. I don't know if its the next TOEE, but I do think anyone who likes TOEE would probably enjoy the final release of the game (unless you hate the 5e system).

Wizards is not involved in making the game (it uses the 5e SRD) and I haven't detected any SJW yet.

Based on the latest news, I doubt Realms Beyond: Ashes of the Fallen will be released...

    This thread tells different story:
"Early 2021 is the plan. With 'early' meaning any time during the first half of the year. We're not going to state any specific month because it would be talking out of our ass. We could roll a d12 and pick whichever month it gives us, that would be just as accurate.

We're still working on the game and will release it to EA when it's ready for that. We're not at a point where we can confidently give an exact ETA to the month.

Remember the constant changes of the Combat Beta release date? If we picked an arbitrary date now, this situation would likely repeat."
